AshlyHasBeen Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago They just posted. Elgin's Heath Clawson got the job. Quote

I know Elgin has been fairly successful under Clawson, but honestly it feels a bit underwhelming for a state finalist program returning a bunch for another run. Could be wrong though. One thing is for certain, he better listen to the OC and throw the ball enough or he won't be for long in the 'Ville! Quote

BTW you can win a state championship without throwing the ball. Good luck to this coach he will have his hands full with this community. 89Falcon, 3agle22 and bullets13 2 1 Quote

Same thoughts here. 7 years experience as head coach. Three years at Louise and 4 at Elgin. Very unimpressive 26-51 record. Did seem to be a little improvement at Elgin after going 0-10 his first year there though. Has 2 state championships as an assistant at Aledo. We'll see how it turns out but I probably would have kept it inside if there weren't any better options Quote
TC2020 Posted 5 hours ago Report Posted 5 hours ago You never know who applied and how interviews went. Whispers here were that the firm was underwhelmed be the applications received. Quote

Is the firm known to get good hires or were the school leaders being lazy and willing to let anybody handle it long as it didn't have to be them? Quote

Businesses or boards pay the search firm to find candidates. They typically do not hire a search firm and then do the search themselves. Quote

At least we can rest assured that the school board made the decision about who to hire. Quote

He should be able to help with his experience with championship offenses. Probably has good connections to get some quality offensive coaches. Quote

That's great if he does but we need a solid DC also since our DC went to Lufkin I believe. We have a OC who knows our kids. Don't want to lose all the people who allready have relationships and a good guage on our kids abilities Quote
