China is about to put the hurt on the USA.  “Nuh uh! They need our money!” Wrong  they’ve still got plenty of our money, and especially not when we have to keep sending piles of cash their way, not for consumable goods, but to repay the loans that they’ve already made to us.  
 

And if we default it will destroy our economy.  How’s that retirement check gonna handle $100 for a loaf of bread?

 

My opinion is that we’re in a bad spot.  How soon can we expect trump to announce that somebody… ANYBODY is willing to make a trade deal with us? So far the tariff policies have resulted in exactly zero agreements.  They aren’t blinking, so Trump paused them for 90 days.  
 

We’re in an exceptionally bad spot.

We don’t import toilet paper from overseas. We don’t import most bread. We don’t even import the packaging materials. Hyperbole much?

Before retirement, I did a lot of work with China. Was a lead design engineer for multiple Lubrizol projects in China. As soon as they were complete, the CCCP basically took them over. I’m pretty familiar with the Chinese economic system. Their collapse would happen long before the U.S.

Purchased 2 uncle Ben’s rice and 2 frozen crawfish tail packets at Walmart for $54.00.   The same poor folks that voted for him are the ones who are suffering.  Meals on wheels are no longer taking new clients because their  grants have been taken away.  The United way food distribution lines are long on Wednesday and Fridays because groceries have gone up and people on fixed income are really struggling. Baby King Trump is trying to pass a bill that would give vouchers to cover medical bills to current and retired civil service law enforcement.  I retired with  25 years of federal law enforcement service and been living with cancer since 2020.  If his bill passes the Senate it would hurt people like me who paid in.
