Tuesday's game can be seen on the Texas Tech Television Network (TTTN). Dave Shore will call the play-by-play. Gregg Elkin will provide the game analysis. The satellite coordinates for game are AMC 16 Transponder K14. Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with Corky Oglesby as analyst on the Texas Tech Sports Network local stations KQBR-FM 99.5 and KFYO-AM 790. The O'Reilly's New Year's Ball had been scheduled for a 1 PM start. When the Texas Tech football team accepted a bid to the Gator Bowl, the Red Raiders vs. Cardinals basketball game was moved to 6 PM so Texas Tech fans could enjoy a Texas Tech doubleheader. The Red Raiders and the Cardinals are meeting for the second time since the initial game of the series on December 13, 1979. Gerald Myers was the head coach for Tech's 83-68 win. The Cardinals are 5-6 for the season. They won their first game of the season, lost their next five games, and have won four of their last five games. Their most recent wins were against Rice (66-49) and over Lyon College (104-52). They have three players averaging double-figures in Kenny Dawkins (15.4), Justin Nabors (10.9), and Lamar Sanders (10.2). Texas Tech outdistanced Northwestern State in their last home game, 95-71. The Red Raiders held a 54-29 halftime lead. It was their largest scoring output in a half for the season. By the end of the 95-71 win, ten Tech squad members played at least 10 minutes and everyone saw action on the court. Four Red Raiders scored in double figures: John Roberson (28), Martin Zeno (14), Alan Voskuil (14), and Mike Singletary (12). John Roberson captured Texas Tech's first weekly honor of 2007-2008 after the Red Raiders posted a 95-71 victory over Northwestern State by being selected the Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week. The freshman from Plano High School was Tech's leading scorer for the second time this season and improved his previous scoring output of 22 points against Alaska Anchorage in the Great Alaska Shootout with 28 against NSU. He came off the bench to score 28 points in 24 minutes. John was 9-of-12 from the field (.750), made 5-of-7 three's (.714), sank 5-of-6 free throws (.833), had 5 assists with 2 steals, and 1 turnover. Texas Tech basketball has two remaining home games at the United Spirit Arena during the holiday season. After the Red Raiders host the Lamar Cardinals on New Year's Day in a 6 PM tip-off, the UTEP Miners will be final non-conference opponent for the Red Raiders in the 2007-2008 season on January 5 at 1 PM.
