3.  Celina - 7 starters return from 31-7 Regional Finalist Team.  Return 6 of top 7 hitters.  Troy McCartney (Jr) 1st Team All-State 3B;  Charley Waldrep (Jr) 2nd Team All-State Catcher.

4.  Gilmer - 8 starters return from 19-5-1 Bi-District Team.  Return top 3 pitchers.  Garret Adkins (Sr) .411, 30 RBIs; Brennan Thompson (Sr) .409; Jake Ashley (Sr) .391, 36 Runs.

5.  Snyder - 6 starters return from 26-7 Regional Quarterfinalist Team.  Return top 2 pitchers and #2-#5 hitters in the lineup.  Brent Bollinger (Sr) 1st Team All-State SS; Lance Day (Sr) 2nd Team All-State Pitcher; Dustin Murdoch (Sr) 3rd Team All-State 2B.

8.  Cameron Yoe - 7 Starters return from 15-12 Area Finalist Team.  Zach Young (Sr) .500; Jason Siegler (Sr), 31 RBIs; Jake Burke (Sr) 2.92.

12. Castroville Medina Valley - 6 Starters return 27-9 Regional Semifinalist Team.  Return top 2 hitters and 2 of top 3 pitchers.  Zach Dodson (Jr) .404, 8-3, 82 K's; Troy Stein (So) .391.

13. Rio Hondo - 10 Starters return from 17-13 Regional Quarterfinalist Team.  Return all pitchers.  8 Senior starters.  Rollie Garza (Sr) 32-3A MVP.

14. Bridge City - 4 Starters return from 28-8-1 Regional Finalist Team.  Casey Jackson (Sr) Honorable Mention All-State catcher; Matt Hicks (So) 21-3a Defensive MVP.

15. Cuero - 7 Starters return from 23-9 Area Finalist Team.  Return top 2 pitchers.  Jennings Boothe (Jr) All-State Honorable Mention Pitcher; Tyler Arndt (So) All-State Honorable Mention OF.

16. Andrews - 6 Starters return from 22-11 Regional Semifinalist Team.  Juan Contreras (Sr) 3-3A Defensive MVP; Corey Lee (Sr) .400; Ryan Diaz (Jr) 6-3 2.64.

17. Mathis - 5 Starters return from 25-6 Area Finalist Team.  Return top 2 pitchers.  Victor Alvarado .412.

18. Gonzales - 10 Starters return from 15-12 Bi-District Team.  Landon Bozka (Sr) All-State Honorable Mention 2B; Jacob Bird (Sr) All-State Honorable Mention OF.

19. Sweeny - 5 Starters return from 19-11 Bi-District Team.  Return top 2 pitchers.  Riley Hornback (Sr) .444, 1.64; Aaron Rollins (Jr) 8-1, 1.78; Ryan Hornback (Jr) .468.

20. Hutto - 6 Starters return from 18-6 Bi-District Team.  Return 2 of top 3 pitchers.

No problem with that.  I am just puzzled why BC is not near the top.  ???

I thought Bridge City had more starters returning than 4. I know Hicks, Jackson, and Robertson are returning but who else is coming back?

I am surprised that Jasper, as defending state champ, is not preseason #1.  They would be in my book.  Granted, losing Reagan is a big loss but they still return a lot of talent and the 'Dogs just chewed up the state tourney last year.

As far as BC, they do return some talent but lost a lot (e.g., their best 2 pitchers and their best player).  I'd be happy with where they got slotted.
