ozens fastest@1906 Posted January 8, 2008 Report Posted January 8, 2008 Who are some of the teams to look out for and who's on these teams?
cardinalcc Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 In 21-3a WOS usually has good relay teams/sprinters and jumpers.Silsbee also had some good sprinters and jumpers last year.Bridge City will have several distance runners who should place high in their events.BC,WOS,and OF each have a 400 runner who should be under or come close to going under 50.
ozens fastest@1906 Posted January 12, 2008 Author Report Posted January 12, 2008 I talked to a buddy of mine over at WOS and he says that the kid from WOS is looking real good, and should easily break 50.00 this year...
Guest astrosfan75956 Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 yes that is a good district for track, didnt OF used to be good in pole vaulting? didnt they used to produce olympians? what happened in OF?
ncplaya Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 yes that is a good district for track, didnt OF used to be good in pole vaulting? didnt they used to produce olympians? what happened in OF? Hester left, look for cleveland to have some decent ones coming up now.
Guest pilot Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 In east Texas 2A Newton should have a good track team. Strong on relays (4x100,4x200 especially), sprints (100 to 400m), long jumps and throws.
distancecoach Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 Barbers Hill should be a interesting team to watch and follow this season considering they lost every one of their relay teams, their 400 runner, 200 runners, 800 runners, most of their throwers....i think they only got back 2 distance runners maybe 3 i'm not sure if their district 1 & 2 mile champion williams graduated or not does anyone know or is that even his name??? So their season should be interesting

So their season should be interesting His name is Jess Williams and he is a senior this year. He ran a 17:10 5K at the region III meet in XC this year. He also won CC district.
ozens fastest@1906 Posted February 5, 2008 Author Report Posted February 5, 2008 Are there any good sprinters coming back in the area West Brook, Ozen, Central, WOS for the last few years have had a sprinter or two make it to regionals and even to state. I know last year Celestine from Ozen made it to state and Thomas from WOS finished 3rd at Regionals. Whats the status of Hall from Central....
BroncoFan1 Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Dayton will certainly miss Joe Carter and P.J. McGowen this year. I hear the Dayton kids are working hard and should make a good showing this year.

McGowen this year. I hear the Dayton kids are working hard and should make a good showing this year. The last few years Dayton's had a real good 4x400 meter relay... Where thos two guys apart of it last year?
BroncoFan1 Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Yes, both Carter and McGowen were on the 4x400. Smesny and Barton are returning on the 4x400 with several other kids battling for the other 2 spots. They will compete well. Coach Wood will have them ready.
hddemon Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Hull-Daisetta should be good at the 1a level. They return the 100 and 200 state champ. They also return the state runner-up in the sprint relay.
ozens fastest@1906 Posted February 16, 2008 Author Report Posted February 16, 2008 After Friday night it looks like Central is in for another good year... They looked very good in the relays... What happen to Hall in the 100 meter dash, i though he would run it, I guess the wheather played a part...

Sticky5 Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 HD will have a great team. They have Adrian Anderson who won State the 100m and 200m They have the State runner up 4X100 Relay Last year the 4X200 Relay got 3rd at Regionals so they should have a good shot at bringing that event to State.
K-TOWNLB Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 kountze will be a good team this year. they return their entire team that won district last year, so expect the same results.
falcon 7 Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 huffman's amazing distance runners kill willams
cardinalcc Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Falcon 7, Huffman has a long way to go before they even come close to being able to kill Jess Williams in a race. He has already run under 4:40 in the 1600 and Huffman's fastest guy only ran a 5:20 at Anahuac. That quite a bit of time to have to make up there.
distancecoach Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 falcon7, i wouldnt call huffmans distance team amazing....considering you have only that freshman kid...williams has run 4:38 this season already in the 1600 and a 2:01 in the 800 thats faster than the winning times last season in those races....maybe huffman should run under 5 min. before they start sayin they will kill someone who is running 42 sec FASTER!!!!!!!!
