setxguru Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 The Liberty Head Football/Athletic Director job is definately open. I went to there school website and the job was posted on Dec. 20th. It said the deadline for applying is 1-31-08. The website is libertyisd.net.
Guest wos mustangs Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 Post the list Bud when you get it. I had heard that Crouch was trying hard for this one as well.
Hammer831 Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 The OC from Dayton has put his name in for the Liberty job.
Hammer831 Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 I am not sure of his name but a buddy of mine was telling me at work that he heard that he had applied. If he did he might get a serious look.
OldTimer Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 I thought the OC for Dayton is Coach Bell - used to coach at Liberty about 3 years ago. But I am not 100% sure he is the OC. If he is he is aware of Liberty and what needs to be done.
JS Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 The OC at Dayton is Coach Nations--Liberty would be very lucky to get him-----may have to raise their pay scale
Guest etbu Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Who is the OC from Dayton? Is it Darrell Bell?
Hammer831 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 I just saw one of Dayton's coaches at Walmart and he said their OC is Coach Nations. He has been the OC since they went to the spread offense a few years ago.
Wes57 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Coach Nations, from what I hear, would be an excellent choice. He left Dayton once before to become the Head Coach for another school (Dont know for sure the school) but came back to Dayton after only one year. From what I hear this coach runs the spread and the kids like him alot.
SETEXFan Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 He left in 2000 to become the OC at Tatum in East Texas. Tatum went 2 rounds deep and they led the East Texas area, 3A schools, in offense I believe. He was given an opportunity at Dayton that was hard to pass up from what I understand. Coach Nations, from what I hear, would be an excellent choice. Guest etbu Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Hopefully they get someone and open up the wallet and get the program headed back to where it was years ago.
playdefense Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Heard Haynes said he would take it for $100,000. They said they could not afford that, so he recommended Hodges from Kountze. I hear Valastro would take 90,000.

daytonbronco555 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 The OC at Dayton is Coach Nations--Liberty would be very lucky to get him-----may have to raise their pay scale why would coach nations go over there to a losing team
j_dog Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 The OC at Dayton is Coach Nations--Liberty would be very lucky to get him-----may have to raise their pay scale why would coach nations go over there to a losing team One: Opportunity for promotion. Two: After he goes, they will not be a losing team.
Hammer831 Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 When are they going to start interviews for the job? They need to hurry because they need the new guy in there to get his program going.
The Old Ball Coach Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Can anybody please tell me how many times Liberty has made the playoffs in the last 12 years?
shermdog Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 HEard that there is an OC from Fort Worth applying. Runs the spread similar to Haynes.
hddemon Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 What is the date that the job will be closed?
OldTimer Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Old Ball Coach - I think they have made the playoffs 10 of the last 12 years. They did not make it in 2005 or this year 2007. Hddemon - I heard the closing date was 02/01/2008.
football Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Since his wife is the new super at hd, did Huckaby apply?
Hammer831 Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Talked to a friend of mine that said Nations worked on the defenisve side of the ball for Coach Stewart before he went to Tatum. I hope he gets a look from the board. He has experince and success on both sides of the ball. Plus with the kids that we have our offense could be very good under his direction.
NeverSayDie Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 What other names are being thrown around for this one?
