ceo
I have nothing against sattler. Sorry, I spoke what I heard, not something I knew. I just think Liberty needs the best man for the job no matter who it is. But anyone who is involved with Liberty knows it has always been about the boys! Something has to change! Best of luck men! football
I heard that Huckaby applied and he is not being considered! State Champion as an AD with several years experienc as an AD.
JS
Be patient--these decisions can be very tough with a lot of emotions and different personalities, agendas, etc---It could also be a good sign of more than one strong candidate--The board will work it out

papasmurf
I heard that Liberty had offered it to a coach from Lexington, but he turned them down. Is there any truth to this? If so, I would expect more than just Nations to start pulling there name out.
setxfan1
According to my source in Liberty. The Sup is adament about deemphasizing Football. She doesn't think a Football offseason is necessary. The guys who wanted the job no better. They got the hell out of the running fast. You people in Liberty might need to go talk with Coach Stewart in Dayton to see if off-season is important. You might even think about questioning your board to let a woman decide about your football program that doesn't care much about it.

Matt
Rest assured Liberty will screw it up, they will probably pass on Nations and hire one of them local boys, it would not surprise me if Douglas was hired Theres nothing wrong with liberty's field, its the same one i played on in 1975 thru 1980, i didn't include my 7th grade, i think they let us walk across it once that year ;D

I heard the same thing last week about the Supid and your right you guys need to get on the phone with the board QUICK. We have a principle over here that would luv to do the same thing. I think they call them EDUCRATS.
SETEXFan
They should have done their homework when she was superintendent at Hempstead, before they hired her. She killed what athletic programs Hempstead had. Liberty will not have a chance to be successful until she is gone.

papasmurf
I heard that Douglas has been offered that job, any truth to this? I hear that he is always in Liberty now and around that fieldhouse. I know both Douglas and Chad Taylor and I find it hard to know that Douglas would get it over Chad. Nothing against Douglas, but he has only been coaching for about 5 years and has never been a coordinator. Both guys are quality individuals, but I don't see either one getting it because the board will have a hard time choosing between the two, therefore they will probably cancel each other out and someone else will get it. That is ashame! Knowing that they have already offered it to another coach, who would want it.
PANTHERPLAYA09
I heard that they narrowed it down to two...but they really wernt sure who they wanted to go with so they made Douglas and Taylor play paper rock siccors....turns out that Douglas forgot how to play and Tayor thought rock beat paper....so they decided it was a draw and nobody won.......THE END. OldTimer
Do not take the fact that any coach is around the school as a sign that they have been offered anything. I do know that the school has invited several of the applicants over to the school to show them around. I do not know Mr. Douglass - but I have heard from several people on this site and in Liberty area that he has not been certified at this time - It this true? If so I do not think he would be offered the job. ???

PantherPlaya09, sounds like you must be a hometown guy that didn't even make it into the cut at all. Evidently you do not know either one of these men, because they both have more class than you and your rude comment! As well, you need to learn how to use spell check! tuffenuff
Liberty is already changing, I heard today they are only going to allow 5 pep rallies next year. Only for the home games. How many other schools have this rule?
ceo
Only 5 pep rallies? That ought to really keep the spirit going! That is CRAZY! Hardin did that until they got a new GREAT coach. A coach that has the kids best interest at heart. Liberty? What is everyone thinking? If anything, add more pep rallies.... baseball, basketball, softball, volley ball, etc. All the kids deserve the support of the student body, teachers and the community!
