1.  Castroville Medina Valley 9-0

Two tournament championships hosted by 4A schools.  They are the hottest team in 3A right now.

2.  Sinton 7-3 

Losses to three 4A schools; 3-3 against 4A schools; won Atascosa Tournament

3.  Celina  10-1           

Only loss was a forfeit in a tournament; Won their tournament and the Little Elm tournament; 4 shutouts this year.

4.  Needville 6-0         

Haven’t been challenged yet but have won their 6 games by a margin of 72-5.  4 shutouts.  Won Rice Consolidated Tournament.

5.  Jasper  8-2

Lost to a 4A school and Diboll;  3-1 vs. 4A schools;  Went 3-0 in Woodville Tournament

6.  Longview Spring Hill  8-0   

Won Spring Hill/White Oak Tournament and Pittsburg tournament; Have given up only 11 runs in eight games.

7. Frisco Wakeland  10-0-1

Won Denison tournament and Gunter/Prosper tournament

8.  Cameron Yoe 8-1-1 

Won the West Tournament last weekend.  4 Shutouts this year.   One loss was to 3A Giddings. 

9.  Gilmer 6-3 

Only losses are to 4A schools.

10. Cuero 8-0

Won their tournament the first weekend.; really haven’t been challenged but have tallied 109 runs in 8 games

11. Hutto 7-1

Won Manor tournament; beat Robinson; 2-1 loss to Rockdale

12. Robinson 8-3     

Won a very competitive Rockdale/Cameron tournament (6-0) the first weekend but lost two games in the Caldwell tournament last weekend.

13. Pleasanton  6-3     

Lost to Sinton (8-4) in first tournament and then went 2-2 against 4A schools in the Kerrville Tivy Hill Country Classic Tournament

14. Snyder 6-3             

Won Lubbock tournament last weekend; seem to be bouncing back after slow start

15. Bridge City 5-2   

Only losses have come to 4A schools.

16. Lufkin Hudson  7-4           

Have played all larger schools except for game with Jasper (lost 5-15)

17. Rockdale 8-2       

Won Caldwell tournament last weekend; 2-1 win over Hutto; 2 losses to Robinson

18. Taylor 7-2-1         

Won Elgin tournament; Playing a schedule of mostly 4A schools

19. Sweeny 5-2

Losses to private school and 4A school

20.  Bandera 8-1

Won Lytle and Devine tournaments; loss to Liberty Hill

MARCH 24 TOP 20

3ABASEBALL.COM TOP 20

1.  Medina Valley 20-1      Still looking like the best team in 3A.  7-0 vs. 4A/5A schools.  A 2-1 loss to Bandera this week.

2.  Sinton 14-5                  Tough schedule with 13 of 19 against larger schools.  Have not lost to a 3A school this year.

3.  Bridge City 15-3          Also have not lost to a 3A school.  Big win against Jasper early in district and are 5-0 in the tough 21-3A.

4.  Needville 12-0            Schedule is not as tough as others but have won impressively.  Opponents have scored only 16 runs in 12 games.  Six shutouts.

5.  LV Spring Hill 15-1      One loss to 4A Hallsville.  Pitching is strong as they have shut out 3 opponents and held six other teams to 1 run.

6.  Jasper 15-3                Jasper has beaten a lot of good teams.  They are 4-1 in 21-3A after tough 4-3 loss to Bridge City.

7.  Cuero 17-2-1              The Gobblers have scored 228 runs this year.  Losses have come to Medina Valley and Marion.

8.  Snyder 16-4                After a slow start, the Tigers have now gone 14-1 in their last 15 games. 

9.  Fr. Wakeland 14-1-1  Tied for 1st at 4-1 in the tough 9-3A.  Have shut out opponents six times.

10. Pleasanton 15-5        Only loss to a 3A school was vs. Sinton. 

11. Lufkin Hudson 12-6  9-4 record against 4A/5A schools.  Tied with Carthage at 5-0 in 20-3A.

12. Taylor 13-3-1            Have quitely won a lot of games with a pretty tough schedule.  Beat Cameron Yoe 5-0 to start 18-3A play.

13. Bandera 14-4-1        Now known as the only team to beat Medina Valley.  Won 2 tournaments this year.

14. Hutto 11-2                The Hippos look good when they play anyone else but Rockdale.

15. Carthage 12-4          Nine game winning streak.  5-0 in 20-3A.

16. Ingleside 14-2          Another team on a nine game winning streak.

17. Canyon 15-6            Had a eight game winning streak going until 4A/5A tournament in Amarillo where they went 2-2.

18. Celina 13-3              Were on a roll early in the season but have slipped to 3-2 in the tough 9-3A.

19. Gilmer 12-5              The Buckeyes doing well against with a pretty tough schedule.  2-0 in 15-3A.

20. Silsbee 11-6            Lots of teams vying for this last spot but Silsbee's 4-1 start in 21-3A gives them the nod.

    • Well I’d say the Bobcats looked a lot more talented tonight, not taking anything away from Anahuac, but physically this was not a competitive game. Gotta give the Bobcats their flowers lol absolutely no one gave them a chance in this game.
    • I can’t help but feel for Anahuac in this game. A lot of buzz and excitement around the team this year, and there is not a more talented team in the district.  But it looks like they still have some issues with discipline and consistency. They keep getting in their own way.    They have an amazing coaching staff and good athletes who are also great young men. I hope they find a way to get over whatever hill is blocking them from being the program they’re capable of being
