KFDM COOP Posted January 15, 2008 Author Report Posted January 15, 2008 Attacking NHS edges Kelly NEDERLAND -- Whether it's one side of Mid-County or the other, the Nederland and Port Neches-Groves boys soccer teams toughed out a pair of narrow victories over Beaumont schools Kelly and West Brook on this rainy Tuesday night. Nederland evened its record at 2-2 by claiming a 1-0 win over Kelly at Bulldog Stadium. Coach Rob Bledsoe welcomed a shutout from junior goalkeeper Tyler Vidrine. The Bulldogs scored the night's lone goal midway in the opening half when sophomore forward Hector Garcia converted a header. A crossing pass from Ryan Washburn assisted Garcia before Taylor Trahan's playmaking found Washburn in the corner. Bledsoe, the sixth-year NHS head coach, liked the work of his goalkeeper plus he welcomed his team's ability to attack. "I thought Tyler (Vidrine) had an outstanding game," Bledsoe said. "We attacked well the whole game. We did a good job of attacking. It made a big difference in the middle that Austin Wyble and Bay Calloway hustled so much on defense."
