Seen both Pitts and Hicks and they are 2 of the best.
at_the_top_of08
I think Josh Gardiner should be put in this group of kids without a doubt

MWhizzie
VJ bunner and dylan lundy are the two best ss in the area
falcolnfanatic
Jeff Schmidt-Huffman last years disticr 21 4a defensive mvp
setxsportswhizz08
V.J. Bunner of Vidor no doubt. The guy has a full ride to a division 1 college for a reason. He knows how to play the game and cant do it well.
team first
by the time hicks is thru, he is going to hard to beat
East TX
Though only a Sophomore, Hicks is by-far the best SS along the Gulf Coast. What accuracy and what an arm!
at_the_top_of08
VJ bunner and dylan lundy are the two best ss in the area Josh Gardiner is part of the best ss in this area by far, not just lundy and bunner, you cant leave him out of that race, why do you think they tied for all district. Lundy and Bunner are good without a doubt but gardiner is a part of that trend
Guest WB42
I have seen all of the guys mentioned thus far play. All of them are outstanding SS who should play somewhere at the next level. I wished I could have them all on the same team to build my infield with. They all can play anywhere on the Infield. You could rotate Gardiner and Hicks to start on the mound and use Pitts in relief. You would never miss a beat on defense. They are all very close in talent level. A pretty honest assessment by everyone so far.
Bears
Hicks and VJ are awesome, but to say he has a FULL ride at a D1 is not correct, unless he is receiving academic aid.
EAGLE07
Jeff Schmidt-Huffman last years disticr 21 4a defensive mvp I've seen the Schmidt kid play for a couple of years now. You can add him to this list.
Guest EDOWD
It's Lycan or Lundy.
VOP
Easy East Tx. Hicks is good but "by far" the best. That's bold talk. He has plenty of time to improve but last time I saw him play the foot speed was not at an elite level.
HORNS4
VJ is by far the best SS this year but Hicks is very close behind HF Taylor Eaves should have a huge season this year and next very strong player
VOP
Come on, Eaves is a good player but he is not currently even in the top half dozen SS's. Lycan, Lundy, Pitts, Gardiner, Bunner. Check back after this year when many of the proven seniors have graduated.
utguy09
I have to go with Gardiner. Kid has range, speed, and an arm. There is only one problem, he is on the wrong team! Has D-1 talent just needs some coaching. Put him on a program that puts guys through d-1 schools, like png, lcm, nederland ect. and he could be one of the top in the state. Just my opinion. I agree with alot of what you said. I think because of Ozen win-lost record this kid and some others on this team don't get as much exposure as they should in this area. I do believe Gardiner will get what he deserve when its all said and done.

With Lott, Gardiner and Raggett, Ozen should win more than 2 district games as they did last year.
