When we get additional students, we get additional funding from the state,†he said.“The money that comes from the state has to be by state law spent on enhancing the academic side of the university.†Johnson predicts that 500 students minimum will come in because of the football program and the additional funding from the state will enhance academics. “Enrollment management was another thing we factored in while considering football,†said Johnson. The fee imposed on students would last indefinitely for the startup of the football program and to help maintain it in the future. “Some of the schools may call it an athletic fee, but it would be specifically for football,†he said.
