EAGLE07 Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Former LCM Bear Jake Rowell hits a 2-run pinch-hit home run in first at-bat as an Angelina Roadrunner...in a loss to Wharton JC on Monday.
bullets13 Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 way to start things off with a bang!
Gabe Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Congrats Jake. Ill miss him being around LCM baseball this year!
Bears Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 It was also his first collegiate swing, nice slugfest in Lufkin........
adminbaberuth Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 It was also his first collegiate swing, nice slugfest in Lufkin........ Dang, if he hits a triple at his next AB, will it be a slump ? Congrats Jake. Bears, how did our other locals do?
Bears Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 No Locals played in the first game, except Jake's pinch hit apperance, first game took 3.45 hours. Second game starters had Serna in LF 1-2 single,F9, Dugas @2b 0-1, 6-3 Second game only last 3 innings, Armstrong from WB was on the DL for a sore quad.
EAGLE07 Posted January 29, 2008 Author Report Posted January 29, 2008 It was also his first collegiate swing, nice slugfest in Lufkin........ Tell them to keep scoring 12 runs a game..got some pitching coming next year. Seriously, from all I've been told... sloppy defense on both sides in this game. It's got to be pretty neat to hit it out w/ your first swing at the next level. Nice job, Rowell.
MIF04 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 A congrats to my 'devils: Way to go, Jake...1 swing, 1 HR. Good luck improving on that . LOL. Congrats to Mark to getting solid basehit in his 1st collegiate game. And BJ....get well !!!! We remain very proud of you guys.
DaBears Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 What happened to Jake playing for McNeese? Big high profile signing and then goes to Angelina, whats up?
MIF04 Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Coaching change -- Clement signed him then he resigns a few games into the '07 season. Fackler takes over but not re-hired after season ends. McNeeses hires a new guy but...a lot of uncertainty over there. Kinda hard to blame the kids for going somewhere else.
mammyj Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Way to get their attention, Jake. I'm proud for you and 21-3A
