adminbaberuth Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 This week the tour goes to Scotsdale. The 16th hole is the loudest on tour, where the fans drink too much, and actually boo the players if they make a bad shot. Of course Tiger made a hole in one at 16, the crowd went nuts. Below is a video of the shot plus highlights of Tiger's memorable shots. This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up
PURPLE 4EVER Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 Although many just hate watching golf, this is one of the top tournaments to watch. CBS broadcasters are AWEsome and the 16th hole at Scotsdale is unique. An interesting comment made on CBS last week. This tournament is the most attended sporting event in the world. I believe the quote was that over 300,000 people watch this tournament from Thursday to Sunday. I know it was hundreds of thousands, the 300,000 is my best recollection of the quote.
adminbaberuth Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 Turn it to CBS, Phil is tied and he's coming to 16th.
adminbaberuth Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 Phil missed a short putt for birdie, now 1 behind
adminbaberuth Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 JB just put one in the drink, Phil still alive.
adminbaberuth Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 After a quick trip to Walmart, JB needs a birdie on 18 to tie Phil. He has 57 yard shot.
adminbaberuth Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 OK, he now has 10 footer uphill for birdie and then a playoff. 550,000 attendence at this tournment.
adminbaberuth Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 JB Holmes birdies 18 and now a playoff with Phil.
adminbaberuth Posted February 3, 2008 Author Report Posted February 3, 2008 JB Holmes birdies 18 again in the playoff and beats Phil for the FBR championship
PURPLE 4EVER Posted February 3, 2008 Report Posted February 3, 2008 JB must have drove his last two drives 340 yards IN THE AIR! Unbelievable how he took the water out of play by blasting the drive that far in the air. The last drive he was using the greenside bunker to line up his shot! Of course, the drives are for nothing if he doesn't one putt the last two times. As the saying goes.... Drive for show, putt for dough!! What a tournement. I wish they would have had more coverage on the 16th hole.
