Guest bulldogbark Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Looks like Odessa Permian has been in the most of them with 4 so we can almost say that Odessa Permian had been in 1/4 of the top games in Texas history
KFDM COOP Posted July 10, 2006 Author Report Posted July 10, 2006 Yup. OP Ranks at #2 in all time winning percentages behind WOS. See Historical Forum.
Guest GoStangs Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Interesting list... I don't know what the criteria is to qualify as a "greatest moment," but seven of those games were state championship games. It makes you wonder why the other state championship games aren't on there, and how the three listed district games made the list when a bunch of other great ones didn't.
KFDM COOP Posted July 10, 2006 Author Report Posted July 10, 2006 Not sure? These were posted in the Book.
Guest GoStangs Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 Oh, is that the book that came out about two years ago? If so, it explains a lot.
KFDM COOP Posted July 10, 2006 Author Report Posted July 10, 2006 I'm not sure when it came out? I think it's been out a while though.
Guest GoStangs Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 That's the one I'm remembering. I read some of it at Barnes and Noble, and it didn't take me long to decide that book was not worth the paper it was printed on.
Sandman Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 I think Tom Halliburton from the Port Arthur News chose the Golden Triangle games and David Barron of the Houston Chronicle picked the Greater Houston games.
Jsmity Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 The Madison vs. Nothshore game was when Vince played for Madison so that explains the 61 points
Guest GoStangs Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 I think Tom Halliburton from the Port Arthur News chose the Golden Triangle games and David Barron of the Houston Chronicle picked the Greater Houston games. You're right, which is probably why 7 of the "greatest moments" in GT history revolve around south and mid-Jefferson County teams...
Guest Living 4 Friday Nights Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 :damnfunny Yep, he loves Mid County. Nothing against Mid County but Halliburton favors them to much.
KFDM COOP Posted January 16, 2007 Author Report Posted January 16, 2007 You're right' date=' which is probably why 7 of the "greatest moments" in GT history revolve around south and mid-Jefferson County teams...[/quote'] That ain't no joke.
