fatboysofttail Posted February 9, 2008 Report Posted February 9, 2008 Bridge city boys took second over all. The girls took second over all. In the 181 girls class,Valerie Brown ran away with first again. She bettered her total lifts from 795 to 870,a big improvement over her last meet.Keep up the hard work.we are proud of you.
Guest Sports Cards Posted February 10, 2008 Report Posted February 10, 2008 795 to 870 within a couple weeks ??? ??? The only reason she was at 795 is because she got red lighted on her squat for leaving a bobby pin on her shirt, or else her total would have been 835. She could easily total a lot more than 870, but she is only allowed to increase so much each week so that she does not risk an injury. There's no reason to push it at invitational meets.
fatboysofttail Posted February 10, 2008 Author Report Posted February 10, 2008 I agree, sports cards,we dont want to get our number one girl lifter hurt. That would not be good.Moma D, would not be happy or dad. Keep up the good work.
Guest Powerlifting Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 what were the team standings Guys Lumberton 38pts Bridge City 38pts Nederland 34pts Lumberton did well, it'll be good to see them develope a solid powerlifting program. Nederland's Coach Pool has done an excellent job rejuvinating the Nederland program as well. BC is in the mode of just trying to get kids into Regionals, so they are getting a lot of different kids to lift at each meet, they should have a pretty strong Regional Team again this year. I'm looking forward to seeing PNG's lifters this weekend, their two top lifters may be able to bring Coach Bethea another State Title. Girls Westbrook Bridge City Coach Abshire's girls are strong again this season and Bridge City's lifters are doing great. BC's girls team is in the same mode as the guys, not lifting all of their top lifters every meet, just preparing for Regionals.
