From TexasHoops:

In case you missed it, Angelina College had three signees in the fall. Sure, star post player Dee Proby inked with Oklahoma State as expected but teammates Horace Dixon and Brandon Moton also signed on the dotted line. Both inked their LOIs during the fall signing period and both will be continuing their college careers in the state of Texas.

Moton, a sharp-shooting 6-foot-5, 185-pound wing originally from Beaumont, was originally planning to wait until the spring to sign but instead decided to ink with Lamar. "It was one of those things where it was a good fit for him," said Angelina head coach Todd Neighbors. "It's his hometown and he felt comfortable with Coach (Steve) Roccaforte. It's an opportunity to go home and play in front of his family and get some playing time."

Moton, who prepped at Beaumont Central, had offers from other Southland Conference programs and other out-of-state schools but felt that if he were to sign early it would only be at Lamar. With the pressure of recruiting off his shoulders, Moton has gone out this season and has performed to his capabilities averaging 11.9 points while hitting threes at a 43-plus percent clip.

"He's doing well and he's had some big games for us the last two weeks," Neighbors said. "He's really been hot as of late."

Joining Moton in signing early was Dixon, an athletic 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward who transferred in from St. Louis. Dixon, who's originally from South Carolina, will remain in the Lone Star State after inking with Houston.

"(Houston) had come in, watched practice, and really felt that he would fit their program," Neighbors said. "He fits their style of play. He's athletic, can run and jump and rebound, and that's what they look for with their post players. It's a good fit for him."

Dixon has spent most of his time at Angelina manning the four spot for Neighbors and is currently averaging 4.2 points and 3.7 rebounds while shooting a robust 54 percent from the field.

"He's given us energy off the bench," Neighbors said. "Against Paris the other night he had eight points, six-to-seven rebounds, and two-to-three blocked shots and that's what we expect out of him."

Texas Hoops Analysis: BRANDON is a good shooter who can get hot from behind the 3 point line. He has the ability to put it on the floor and create his shot, can finish in the paint and has a strong body.
