Guest DickVitale Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 J'Covan Brown will be reinstated to the team in time for this weekend's play-IN game!! According to my guy Jim Hicks of RCS Sports, and a confirmed phone conversation with Terul Henderson, PA Memorial head coach....What do you guys think about THIS development? :o
KFDM COOP Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 WOW!!! Keep us posted on this and why!!!!!!!!!
Guest DickVitale Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 AND he was also named to the final 20 of 24 listed to play in the McDonald's All American Game!!.... :o
bullets13 Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Interesting timing... I hope that went and talked to the coach, and not the other way around.
shorttexas1 Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 tHIS WOULD REALLY ADD TO THE CHEMISTRY OF THE TEAMÂ : :-\
Guest DickVitale Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 (Watch me play devil's advocate here... )....J'Covan is a GAME CHANGER...Do you agree? OK, in the playoffs, ONE play can mean you advance or go home...Could J'Covan be the difference maker in a long PA Memorial playoff run? Could it boost the team confidence? (See how that works! )
Guest DickVitale Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 That's where our game is going. No kidding! (playing devil's advocate again) So guys, you don't think that this KID has suffered enough? Does he NOT get a second chance? What if he sincerely apologized? He missed about 10 games, right? Is that not enough?
KFDM COOP Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Good point, good point..He did miss most of the season.
BMTSoulja1 Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 :o Wow. Boy wonder is back? All I can say is ABOUT TIME. Long run? I don't know. but this will guarantee that PAM will make the playoffs. The best player in the golden triangle is back. go get 'em, kid!
Guest DickVitale Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Do you guys not realize the effect that this will have on PAM's opponents? It will be psychologically draining! This is HUGE!
Informer Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Second chance? Try fourth or fifth
Guest DickVitale Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 4th, 5th, 10th!...He has NEVER been PUNISHED like this before...Maybe, NOW he finally gets it...Maybe. As I have said before, I wish people would stop acting like they are so darn perfect that they can try to BAN a KID for life!! Amazing... :
Informer Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I agree to an extent. A more stern punishment early on in his career could have prevented a lot of what has happened. However, it was made public that he was suspended for the season. I'm sure they'll come back now and say "no, no, we meant REGULAR season". It looks real bad to go back on it at this point. It comes across as a "win at all costs" attitude.
Guest DickVitale Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I would be willing to bet that there are NO complaints from the kids, and THATS the important issue...Public opinion has crucified him...Now its time for some healing and a shot at redemption....chuuuuuch!
CoachKfan Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I think this is disgusting. Â So he just sits back and waits to see if his team gets to the playoffs and then.......Jocovan to the rescue?? Â They got there without him........play without him!!! Â This is a sad statement of what we are teaching our young people. Â Screw up but if the game is important enough, we'll make an exception!! Â Pitiful!!!!
Informer Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 Player's opinion? Â Seriously? Â How about the fact that a decision was made and now it should have to be lived with. Â If anything, the players see now that if you are good enough............well, you know the rest.
Guest DickVitale Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 OK, I understand your point too, but the fact remains, WE don't know the SPECIFICS, so WE should not make judgemental statements about WHY he was brought back..WE should be happy for ALL of the KIDS involved in this deal, but WE are too busy being judgemental. How happy do you think those kids are today? ALL of them...
Trad Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I would like to see him play. I would guess the team would love to have him back. I will take another wild guess here and suggest that most of the teams that will be scheduled to play Memorial, hope he stays on the sidelines.
Informer Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 I am not judging. I am going on what information was made available to the public and that was that he was suspended for the year. How happy do you think those kids are today? Based on their record and performance without him versus with him, you may want to rethink that question.
bringiton Posted February 14, 2008 Report Posted February 14, 2008 He is a game changer - he is a "team" changer too. I hope this works out for him and his teammates (they earned their way without him). But Dickie V is right. This is an 17-18 y/o kid, so he deserves a second chance. Even if it is really his 9th or 10th chance.

Anybody with HALF of a brain would understand that that team is better WITH him on it...Those kids are estatic to have a shot at the playoffs WITH him...Don't fool yourself.
