UNLV Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Lamar started the season with a RPI around 190. Lamar losing early dropped Lamar to a RPI of 319. Since then Lamar has turned on the after burners in rising to a RPI 135. Has any team ever gone from +300 to 135? Lamar is expected to win out. The RPI by the end of the season could be between 70-90.

Guest abovetherim Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 It will be close because SFA, SHSU and UTA had all good RPI's prior to conference. Agree the SLC get no respect.

Guest mffl Posted February 17, 2008 Report Posted February 17, 2008 Yeah but SFA beat Oklahoma, which gives them a big boost in RPI. If we beat UNI, Wyoming, and Texas Tech, our RPI would be close to the 100's. Maybe higher.

By winning out, are you referring to the conference tournament as well? If so, then I agree we will be below 100. If you just mean the regular season I don't see it happening. However, I've been wrong quite a bit this year so.....
Guest abovetherim Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Who cares who was right or wrong earlier this year. All I care about is this current team is has just put together a 11 game conference winning streak that is the BEST in the history of this storied program. 11 straight conference wins is more than any Billy Tubbs, Jack Martin or Pat Foster teams. Great job to the current coaching staff and all the players. P.S. Message to Coach Tubbs, get Coach Roc signed to a new contract asap.
LU STRONG Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 from what I've heard, he hasn't even been given a first contract to sign!! big mistake if its true.
Guest abovetherim Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 That isn't true he signed a three year contact and is the highest paid coach in the SLC. He still has a year left on the original contract but it effects recruiting if a coach doesn't have at least a couple years remaining on his contract. That said, we all know it is pretty easy for coaches to get out of contracts these days but Coach Roc wants to be at Lamar. We just need to keep him happy!
UNLV Posted February 28, 2008 Author Report Posted February 28, 2008 Mcneese wins, goes from 274 to 220. Lamar wins, goes from 123 to 121....
Guest coachacola Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 The RPI doesn't change too much when beating teams with bad RPIs, and our remaining opponents have bad RPIs. We need to play and beat SHSU and SFA in the SLC tourney to get our RPI under 100 for the NCAAs.
