Pitchers duel in Buna at The Diamond, Buna 4-Silsbee 3.  Neither team hit real well tonight, Buna had 3 hits in 20 AB's, Silsbee went 4 for 24 as well.  Buna combo of Hillin (5 1/3) and Clark (1 2/3) combined for 7 K's and 7 BB's, while their counterparts from Silsbee, Skinner (1 2/3) and McDonald (5) walked 7 while striking out 11.  Silsbee tied the game up in the top of the 6th, but Buna was able to push acrossthe winning run in the bottom of the 7th with a base hit by Hillin after Baxter had doubled over the right fielders head.  Both teams played hard and left everything on the field.  If you stayed home, you missed out on a good opening day.

Congrats to Buna on the win! From what I saw, both teams need alot of work. It was a dual of hit batters and walks! Through 1 2/3 innings, Silsbee's pitcher had hit 2 batters and walked five that accounted for Buna's first 3 runs. Buna pitching returned the favor later in the game allowing Silsbee it's

3 runs. Silsbee  commit 1 error, while Buna had 2 errors. Buna had 2 hits and Silsbee had 5 hits.

Not a very good showing by either team! That's just what I saw!

Welcome to February high school baseball.  Never too pretty until March when district rolls around, the biggest reason for 3 and 4 game tourneys to shake the winters rust off.

That Buna is tough for a 2A unit; they play-up very well!

The Cougars should be very prepared for district this season. They do not have any easy pre-season games. This was one of many hard fought wins they are going to have to earn
