WestOrange Track Meet

Beaumont Central (4A) won the 4x100m relay with a time of 42.2, and West Orange-Stark was just a hair behind them. I would estimate the Mustangs time at 42.25 or 42.3. Jasper and Silsbee also looked fast, but they were in the mix with Port Arthur Memorial (5A), Dayton (4A), and several other good teams.

West Orange-Stark, last year's State Bronze Medalists, would've won this race; but it appeared that the 1st leg stumbled just a bit.

I have to diasgree with you on this one Coop, last years team was no where near running as fast as this team... Look at the times from last year, both times from last years first two meets weren't as fast as this years..

The Orange Leader

ORANGEFIELD — The Port Arthur Memorial Lady Titans ran away with the girls division and the Beaumont Central Jaguars held on to win the boys division at the Mustang Relays held at Orangefield High School Saturday.

The Orange area, however, had its share of winners.

On the boys side, West Orange-Stark’s Josh Gloston, a member of both Mustang state qualifying relay teams last year, breezed to a win in the 100 meters, winning in 10.96 seconds.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville senior David Sicktich notched first-place in the shot put, tossing it 47 feet, 4 inches. Bridge City’s Tim Cude was first in the 3,200 meters, running a time of 10:21.47. Deweyville’s Joe Dooley, after winning at the Nederland Meet last week, won the 1,600 in 4:41.92 on Saturday.
