shooter Posted February 24, 2008 Report Posted February 24, 2008 It just seems to me that we have added too many teams to the playoff format by allowing four teams from 4A to advance. What is your take on this?
PANTHERPLAYA09 Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 THis is totally true... I believe that 2 is enough to be honest..even if that leaves me at home.
Guest Penny Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 I thought 3 was pushing it, but with 8 and 9 team districts didn't have too much of a problem. FOUR IS RIDICULOUS
Guest Robert Plant Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 Here is what the 4A district (no 5A then) looked like in the late 70's for the GT area. BCP, French, Forest Park, PNG, Nederland, TJ, Lincoln, Vidor and WOS. One team went!! What's wrong with that? I think 2 would be OK. Let's make the playoffs a big deal to get into!!!
82 5A State Champs Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 True....but I think crowning TWO state champions is ridiculous. Let's go back to the old days when the district champion was the only one to make the postseason.........maybe the runner up also. But four is too much. West Brook's district next year is one of the few in the state with six teams, and only two of those will not make it. It's too many!

PANTHERPLAYA09 Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 This is Texas highschool football.......... this isnt chicago little league.........everybody cant win.....thats rediculous....2 teams max.
82 5A State Champs Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 i like it for now since we in a 6 team district lol ....cause there's a better than average chance that ya'll will make the playoffs with this format! LOL!
Guest ECBucFan Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 I believe that 2 is enough to be honest..even if that leaves me at home. My feelings exactly. Whats even more sadder is that a time is coming (mark my words) that ALL teams will "make" the playoffs. Even 0-10 teams. The UIL is so money obsessed they are selling off all meaning of real accomplishments. Scoff now if you want to, but you will see 0-10 teams getting in, Greed has no limits.
KFDM COOP Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 As more and more Schools open and Classifications grow more teams will go to the playoffs!!!!!!
