Will Baylor go dancing?

18-8 is a nice record, but Baylor's schedule has been pretty weak.  They don't have any really bad losses, but they have very few nice wins.  Their "big" win over A&M is becoming less impressive every game that the ags lose.  Their win against Notre Dame, however, is looking pretty nice now that the Irish are doing so well.  If they had not blown the game against OU in overtime the other day, or if they had beaten Texas or Washington St when they had the chance, I'd say they were probably a lock to get in.  As it is, they might need two more wins to get up to 20 for the season, and keep themselves at .500 for the season in Big 12 play.  I don't know if 6 teams will be getting in from the Big 12 this year.  We know KU, UT, and K-state are getting in.  So this means Baylor, A&M, and OU may be battling it out for two spots.

Despite their recent struggles, the aggies are already at 20 wins, so if they win two more games, they're pretty much a lock.  However, their remaining games are against Texas Tech, who's already destroyed them, a good OU team, Baylor, and Kansas.  I doubt A&M will go 0-4 over the next 4 games, but if they don't improve quickly it's a possibility (of course they could also go 3-1 or 4-0, depending on which team shows up).  If they keep losing, they very well could end up in the NIT, as the committee will certainly be looking at recent form as a factor when trying to pick between teams with similar records.

OU is in the same boat as Baylor... at 18-9, their record is pretty nice, but they don't have many quality wins at all, with their best win of the season being probably Gonzaga.  Baylor has played the better teams closer than OU has, and has some better wins, but OU did win both games against Baylor this season.  The only game that OU has left where they can improve their quality wins is against the Aggies, but like i said, at the rate the ags have been losing, a win there is little more than an okay win.

In- Texas, Kansas, K-state

Bubble- Baylor, Oklahoma, and A&M if only for the fact that they could easily drop 3 or 4 more games very quickly

I think the Aggies do find a way to make it, and I think if Baylor makes it to 20 wins, they'll make it in over OU... but who knows.

Right now ESPN bracketology has the Big 12 with the 6 teams i discussed all getting in.  Texas and KU at 1 seeds, K-state at a 6, OU at an 8, and Baylor and A&M at 9's.  I'd love to see this hold up!  However... with the three bottom teams still having some games against each other, this might change.

Out of the 4 teams tied for 4th in the Big 12 Baylor has the easiest remaining schedule. We already played the hard part of the schedule through and all we have left is @Colorado, Mizzou, A&M, and @Tech....we should find a way to split those if the team is worthy of dancing....If we could somehow find a way to win all 4 then we could actually take the 3-seed from K-State if they go 2-2 or worse (possible since they have Texas, and @Kansas for their next 2 games) that would put us both at 10-6 and Baylor having the tie-breaker, who knows, personally i think we need to win 3 of the 4 to get in for sure....i hope we do it...
