Yes they have. Just have to have confidence.  Silsbee has played some tough teams as well and comes out of the toughest 3A district around.

I hope Silsbee's easy path so far hasn't hurt them... if they come out and play well, I say Silsbee by 10.  If they come out slow, it could be anyone's game.  Good luck Tigers!

I've heard that the teams are similar.  There was a mention of Silsbee having a tough district.  Two tough teams does not make a tough district.  You play Hardin-Jefferson well because they are the team to beat.  I'm sure Orangefield has a good team as well but it looks like you had some trouble with them this year.

Crockett has played their last year in this district.  There are two teams that do not play football in this district.  That means they do not hire eight football coaches and one basketball coach and hope that their football coaches know something about basketball.  The teams are Central (Pollok) and Hudson (Lufkin).  These teams play very sound fundamental basketball because they practice year round.  Silsbee played Hudson at a tournament and were likely surprised how a team that looked inferior in the warm-up took their team apart during the game.  Madisonville, which was no slouch team, took out Hudson by only one point.

Crockett has their weaknesses and I'm sure the Silsbee coach has scouted them out.  Crockett's stats are interesting.  If they shoot over thirty-five percent from the field, they blow a team out.  If they shoot around thirty percent, the game is close.  If they stay out the night before the game and don't have their heads right, they may go 17 for 60 like they did in a warm-up game with Centerville.  Which Crockett team will show up this Friday?  Silsbee is hoping for the latter.

Crockett is beyond the point in the season where 35% shooting is going to lead to blowout wins.  If they shoot 35% against silsbee, the better take A LOT of shots if they hope to win.

My primary point was that Crockett's stats were interesting.  They do not always rebound well, yet the stats from the Madisonville game was something like Crockett with 25 to Madisonville's 15.  Madisonville was supposed to be a good rebounding team.

They never shoot well, yet have big wins with poor shooting.  I've seen them play about five times and thought they played well one of the five.  I listened to most of the games on the radio so I really would not count myself as an expert on the team, though I know the players and have watched and coached some of them for years.

They tend to be able to disrupt the other teams game plan.  Steals anywhere at any time.  Loose balls with players diving for possession.  Two or three steals in a row on inbound passes that cause the coach to call time.

As far as I know, that could describe Silsbee as well.  It should be a good game between similar teams.

Yes it should be a good game and yes Crockett has beaten some good teams.  Silsbee be did have a tough time with Orangefield the first two times they played them but they beet them by 30+ the last time.  The tigers have only lost to high quality teams such as H-j and 4a Ozen(only a 8 pt loss).  They also have beaten several high qulity teams includung several that are still playing.  Yes some of them are in lower classes but they are still high quality teams.  Should be a very interesting game.  Go Tigers!!!!

Im hoping that at least make the 2nd of this game to see just how Crockett is before HJ plays cause all ive heard by some people that they are really good and play real aggressive without conservatation.
