Guest mffl Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 I think he'd be a good replacement for Kenny, and would have next year to play with him. After the decision was made to wait until the spring to sign, Anthony Miles started off his senior year at Clear Brook High School with a bang. The sharp-shooting 5-foot-11, 160-pound lead guard never let up all season long, even though he and his team finished the year early in the post-season. As Miles now ponders his next move, he definitely can look back on the past few months with plenty of pride. "I had a good senior season," Miles said. "I think I finished the year leading the Houston area in scoring and it was the best season of my life. I worked really hard and it all paid off." The next step for Miles will be choosing where he'll continue his basketball career. Some of the schools that were recruiting him in the fall are still actively pursuing him and there are some new names in the mix as well. "Right now, I'm looking at Lamar, Long Island, Morehead State, and Wichita State has been on me really hard," Miles said. "I'm also really interested in UTEP as I know they need a point guard. But right now I'm just waiting for their seasons to get over with and see where that leads." The interest from UTEP has admittedly been light, so Miles has been looking quite a bit at the opportunity at Wichita State and hopes to make an official visit there soon. He's enjoyed his talks with the coaching staff and is familiar with several players on the team including incoming freshman David Kyles of Kimball. Until he receives an offer however, he's open to all options. "I'm looking to go somewhere where I can go in and play and be a big contributor to the team," Miles said. "I want to be a floor general - that's what I am. But I also want to go some place that will make me better as a person as well." Texas Hoops Analysis: ANTHONY is a quick and elusive point guard who saw his stock rise with steady and solid play all summer. He has a very good feel for the game, sees up the floor well, can push the ball in the transition game and finds the open man. He can break down the defense, scores well in the paint despite his size, has a soft touch on floaters and can shoot it with 3 point range. He handles the ball well versus pressure, makes good decisions and has quick hands on defense.
Guest abovetherim Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 Sounds like a good PG wherever he ends up attending school. Thanks for posting the information mffl.

Guest abovetherim Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Looks like he isn't the only HS PG Lamar is looking at. Josh Bonney a 5-10 PG from Houston Lamar has several DI offers on the table. Florida Atlantic, Lamar Nicholls State, South Alabama, SE Louisiana, SFA and Elon are some of the school looking at this young man.
MWhizzie Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 just move Ashton Hall to PG that would be awesome
