Yankees tag McLemore for the win

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The New York Yankees tagged reliever Mark McLemore for three runs in the sixth inning to beat the Astros 7-6 this afternoon in a Grapefruit League game at Osceola County Stadium.

The Yankees, playing without Alex Rodriguez, Jason Giambi and Derek Jeter, scored four runs off Astros starter Wandy Rodriguez to take a 4-2 lead in the third, but Carlos Lee hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the inning to give the Astros a 5-4 advantage.

Chris Woodward's two-run single keyed the Yankees' three-run outburst in the sixth. Hunter Pence went 2-for-3 with two doubles for the Astros, and Jose Cruz Jr. was 2-for-3 with two RBIs to raise his average to .333.

Wandy Rodriguez started for the Astros and gave up six hits and four runs in 2 1/3 innings. Brian Moehler and Sammy Gervacio each threw two-thirds of an inning of scoreless ball, and Oscar Villarreal, Wesley Wright and Mike DeJean tossed one scoreless inning.
