KFDM COOP Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Area sharpshooters headline in 21-4A From sports staff reports Baytown Sun Published March 5, 2008 The Crosby and Barbers Hill basketball teams were well represented on the All-District 21-4A lists. They bought into playing unselfish and playing defense.†Barbers Hill finished third in district with a 9-5 record and 21-11 record overall. The Eagles advanced to the area playoffs where they fell in a close game to La Marque. Barbers Hill senior Brooks Ybarra and Crosby junior Kendrae Carter were named co-offensive players of the year. “Kendrae wasn’t the third of fourth option of the year anymore,†Reece said. “I thought he was just a tough matchup for everyone we played. Emonte McMillan of C.E. King was named newcomer of the year. “I thought that Brooks or Jon was deserving of offensive player of the year,†Barbers Hill head coach Nathan Toon said. “They were about equally as valuable to us this year.
