KFDM COOP Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Glad it made the top 10. That's one of the biggest Rivalries in the State.
sahen Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 i wish Sterling would get their act together....Sterling/Lee was one of the better rivalries in the state in the past, even now its still pretty big but nothing like it should be if the Rangers would put a decent team on the field....
stangchain Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Texas Football/State Farm Season-End Class 3A Top 10 Rankings Rank School Preseason Season Result 1 Liberty Hill (14-0) 5 DI Champs 2 Celina (16-0) 6 DII Champs 3 China Spring (14-2) NR DII Finalists 4 Gilmer (14-1) 7 DI Finalists 5 Abilene Wylie (11-3) 24 DI Semifinalists 6 Waco La Vega (13-1) NR DII Quarterfinalists 7 Snyder (12-3) 3 DII Semifinalists 8 Dallas Roosevelt (11-2) NR DI Semifinalists 9 Cuero (12-3) 22 DII Semifinalists 10 Giddings (11-1) 1 Area Finalists Funny, I thought WOS beat Giddings and ended the season at 12-1, yet Giddings makes the top 10 and WOS doesn't. WOS has #1 ranked defense in 3A and doesn't make it....HMMMMMM
KFDM COOP Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Yea those are a joke!!!!!! WOS beat Giddings!
stangchain Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 One would think DC would have learned when they predicted before the season started that WOS would not win the district. Maybe so many people complained in defense of WOS to DC after the magazine came out and they've decided to overlook WOS altogether, even when stats are posted right in front of their eyes. LOL. Who knows?
bullets13 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I enjoyed reading about the rivalries. I especially enjoyed reading about Marshall/Longview, as i went to college in Marshall and went to a couple of these games. Those games were nuts!
PURPLE 4EVER Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Great article. The memories that survive and live on in both stadiums would be worthy of several book printings. It's all about the kids wearing the uniforms and playing for city pride. This is the very essence of Friday Night Lights. Pretty neat that MCM got #3 in the state.
