Austin moved to the semifinals with a 71-60 win over No. 8 UTSA in game three of the SLC Men's Basketball Tournament tonight. Earlier today, No. 3 Sam Houston State advanced in overtime over McNeese State, while No. 7 UT Arlington eliminated No. 2 Lamar. Game Three -- No. 1 Stephen F. Austin 71, No. 8 UTSA 60 KATY, Texas – No. 1 seed Stephen F. Austin advanced to the semifinals with a 71-60 win over No. 8 UTSA in game three of the SLC men’s tournament tonight. With the win, Stephen F. Austin improves to 26-4, as Matt Kingsley scored 26 points and Gerald Fonzie added 19. UTSA’s season comes to a close at 13-17. The Roadrunners took 31-26 halftime lead, thanks to a 66.7 shooting performance from the field (12-18), while the Lumberjacks shot 35.7 percent (12-28). But it in the second half, SFA outscored UTSA 45-29. The difference in the game came in rebounds, as Stephen F. Austin held a 34-24 overall edge, but held a 19-8 edge in offensive rebounds and got 23 second chance points. SFA moves on and will face the winner of No. 4 Southeastern La. and No. 5 Northwestern State at 8:30 p.m., Friday night.
