Icky3284 Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Couple things: 1. Great list, especially the 1st and 2nd team. Man, there is alot of talent in SETX, but I will agree with someone that said K. Spears should be on the list. He was amazing back in the day. And I believe Josh graduated in '96, Tramaine was in 2000. 2. DV, about only bringing the Top 32 teams to the dance: SHUT YOUR MOUTH!!!! Your manhood is being questioned for the simple fact that we as men get 3 COUNT IT 3 weeks of Basketball in March. But you want to cut it down to 2. I am really questioning your MANHOOD at this point. LOL ;D 3. And lay off my SFA Lumberjacks. We may lose on the hardwood, but we can always drink you under the table. God I miss those days.
Guest kf89 Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 I WOULD HAVE TO PUT EARL EVANS,B.B. DAVIS & MACARTHUR AHEAD OF LUKEY JACKSON. AND PERRY HILL WAS PRETTY DAMN GOOD!FASTEST GUY WITH A B-BALL I HAVE SEEN,AND COULD MAKE SHOTS & PASSES FROM ANYWHERE.COULD TALK SMACK WITH THE BEST TOO! HILL GETS MY VOTE FOR 2ND TEAM POINT GUARD.
Bucof2010 Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 So now that his H.S. Career is over do you'll think Tramain Thomas makes the team?
sfasuljack Posted September 30, 2008 Report Posted September 30, 2008 no I don't see tramaine making the team. All the hancocks were better than tramaine. Micheal young of ozen was better than tramaine, I could keep naming more.........
Guest Bishop Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 You forgot Frankie Paul (Central 95), Trimaine Hancock (Kountze 2001), Parish Corner (Westbrook 1997), Josh Hancock (Kountze 1997), Albert Marshall (Ozen 2001), Keenan Young (Ozen 2003), Michael Thomas (Ozen 2001), Kris Richards (Ozen 2006), Edward "Dobie" Garriet (Central 1998), Skip Jackson (Central 1998), Jeremy Long (Westbrook 2001), Mack Randal (Ozen2007), Chris Miller (Silsbee 1999), Michael Young (Westbrook 1985), Scott Young (Hebert 1982), Eric Rideau (Central 1991)
setxslam Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 1 Ryan Donahoe 2 Stephen Jackson 3 Earl the Pearl Evans 4 Kendrick Perkins 5 BB Davis
Bucof2010 Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 I'm surprised nobodys saying Ashton Hall
HJHawks#5 Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 As for as knowing some personally, I do. For instance, I know of three players from Silsbee that had better high school careers than Damion Bush from Silsbee did. They are James Simmons '73, Dexter Wallace '79 and Lloyd McArthur '83. Also Rahn Bailey of Bmt. Hebert '82, Kenneth "Perk" Perkins of BCP '79, Ryan Donohoe '08 HJ ( I know he is more recent, but still left off ) are some that COULD be listed at least honorable mention.I also believe Darryl McArthur, a McDonalds All American from Silsbee, COULD be second team rather than MyKyer of Lincoln. I emphasize COULD not SHOULD, as I will say again, this is Dick's teams and he's just calling it like he sees it. It's all good. Thanks for enlightening me! I agree! Ryan Donohoe should be up there!!! I saw him play in the state tournament in 07' and he was just AMAZING!!!!!!! (MVP of the state championship game as well!!!!!!)
Javelina Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 What about Pat and Don Stanley from Buna? Played in the late 50's. They led the 57 team that is considered to be one of the greatest teams in Texas basketball history!!!! they later played at Texas A&M.
hookem14 Posted November 19, 2008 Report Posted November 19, 2008 Joel Lafleur (PNG) 1st Team Allstate, honorable mention McDonald's All American 1991

Also, BB Davis went to French.
adminbaberuth Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 Someone besides me must have seen Earl play in highschool. He was Dr J in a Lincoln uniform. This guy was untouchable in the area, past or present.
setxslam Posted December 11, 2008 Report Posted December 11, 2008 I watched him in awe. Imagine a truly ambidextrous 6'6" scoring machine with slick point guard skills. He played point center for the Bumblebees. He could drop 50-60 whenever he had a notion to do so, and often did--and there was no three-point line back then. "Earl Evans HAS to be first team. Rated the #2 player in the country his senior year (mid 70's) behind only Moses Malone." That reminded me: Earl the Pearl actually beat Moses Malone in the one-on-one championship game that was a part of the festivities at the Seamco Classic, a HS All-America game in Kentucky.
