Jsmity Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 So lets hear who you guys think will not meet expectations this year?
Guest Kelly Football Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Bridge City....Lost to many players Memorial.......Good Coach, still to many ??
Jsmity Posted July 22, 2006 Author Report Posted July 22, 2006 Yea PA for me. Way to many problems at every aspect of that school.
KFDM COOP Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 I hope Memorial does well i really do. Coach Thompson is a great guy and hopefully carry them along way.
Jsmity Posted July 22, 2006 Author Report Posted July 22, 2006 Yea I hope to. I have met coach Thompson, hes a good guy, I will be rooting for them the whole year except for when they play the BROOK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest Living 4 Friday Nights Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 I would say jasper because they lost quite a few SR's but then again they always are tough.
kepdawg Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 I have lowered expectations for Jasper this year, but most people don't seem to be buying into them having a down year, so I'll say Jasper will have a disappointing season based on most people's expectations.
Lady_Titan21 Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 i honestly think that we are gonna do good and we will beat westbrook.. there ok but not that good.. but i think that that will be the game of the year...and hopefully i dont have a volleyball game that night...lol
Footballblue Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 I think Ozen will be a disappointment, every year Ozen is this or that, I have yet to see the might Ozen produce.
Hupernikomen Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Jasper disappointed last year. Lost several good players but are bringing back a very good O-Line and some skill players. I say they will improve as the year moves forward, but will be forunate to make the playoffs in this tough district.
Guest bulldogbark Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 well Hello there MR Hupernikomen how have you been doing? I am just ready to cheer them on.....heck I am ready for the scrimmages
WOS92 Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Judging from some of the Lumberton fans' confidence, I think the Raiders will be a big disappointment compared to expectations over there.
tvc184 Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Judging from some of the Lumberton fans' confidence' date=' I think the Raiders will be a big disappointment compared to expectations over there.[/quote'] With such a soft district, the Lumberton might make some noise. Ozen, Central, PN-G, Nederland and Dayton had better watch out because the Raiders are coming. They are almost a guarantee to beat LC-M and Vidor. And if anyone believes that, I have a little strip of land to sell down at the beach just as soon as the tide goes out. I do love the enthusiasm though. Maybe Credeur can get it turned around if all the kids can keep thinking that way.
WOS95 Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 i'm not trying to start anything but could someone tell me why silsbee is going to be so good this year? i didn't see them play last year. i'm asking because a lot of people are picking them second in district in front of jasper and bc. i saw both jasper and bc last year and they were both very good.
Guest GoStangs Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 It's just a lot of the same at WOS -- same coaches with a lot of the same players that made it to the state semis last year.
Footballblue Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 I understand the media will follow a wining team, it is ture for all sports at every level no one cares for second place, the story is who is the winner, and acourse it is all political.
WOS92 Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Well, we have our entire defense back, plus Earl Thomas (UT commit) and Jacoby Franks (Tx Tech commit) and newcomer of the year Depauldrick Garrett. Plus, when have we been "not good?"
Hupernikomen Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Well' date=' we have our entire defense back, plus Earl Thomas (UT commit) and Jacoby Franks (Tx Tech commit) and newcomer of the year Depauldrick Garrett. Plus, when have we been "not good?"[/quote'] WO-S is always good..he said SO good. I wouldn't say WO-S has been spectacular the last few years, but were very good last year. Personally I think Beasley will be more missed than some of you are indicating. He was what made your offense go. Wasn't a very good offense 2 years ago when he was in the slot, but was outstanding when he was taking the snaps. I don't think WO-S can run the spread with near as much success this year without him. That is just my opoinion.
WOS92 Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Obviously the offense will be different - and probably somewhat less potent - without Beasley. However, I expect the defense to be MUCH better this year. I honestly believe we'll have a better overall team this year than we did last year. Even offensively, we are stacked with 2 D1 commits and a few underclassmen who are certainly D1 prospects. While I respect your opinion, I think we'll be ALMOST equally successful this year, even if it is through different channels.
KFDM COOP Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 WOS 92 is right. A different Offense will be run this year along with a better Defense. A Coach once told me "people are going to be surprised when they see how good Thomas and Garrett are going to be".
WOS95 Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 can anyone answer my question? why is Silsbee so special this year? they have always given wos a good game in past years, and there is a lot of talk that the district may come down to wos and silsbee.
Critter Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 IMO..I would have to go out on a limb and say Orangefield...
tiger Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 WOS95.....Silsbee is returning several key starters from last year. They found a quarterback in the last game of the year last year that really ran their option very well. They have a HUGE O-line and have speed in the backfield. Silsbee has had two pretty good football teams the past two seasons but have run into a better team in round 1 both years...Palestine. I look for them to be a consistent challenger for that district in the years to come.
Guest kosmo Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 I would have to say BC. Some of the publications are picking us to go to the playoffs, but that is pretty lofty in my book. I think somewhere in the middle of the pack, say 4th or 5th.
