That will be huge if UTA can keep it within 20. Now, I don't want anyone thinking I am for moral victories. UTA was the 7th seed in the SLC, remember this isn't SFA but they would not have played Memphis off the bat because they would have been a 13 seed.

Good luck Mavericks!

Nothing to be embarrassed about there. But, Coach Calipari will probably be upset and giving the Tigers a ear full during the halftime break.

Just when I think I have cured you from your pipedreams, you regress once again into your old ways. You still haven't accepted the reality of the Soutland Conf. Players in the Southland play for 4 years and players at schools like Memphis play for a year and then go pro ( NBA, EPB, etc.) There are no moral victories when you lose. A lost is a lost.

I don't think I was addressing a man with all the basketball anwsers with my post. I was simply stating if the SLC just sent their regular season conference champion SFA would not have been a 16 seed thus they would not have played Memphis in the first round.

"Players at Memphis play for a year then go pro", you might share that with Andre Allen, Antonio Anderson, Joey Dorsey, Chris Douglas-Roberts and Robert Dozier. They did not seem to get the message.

My point was you go to schools like Memphis for the exposure with hopes that one can sustain their playing career past college, unlike a Southland school where the playing level is not as high.

My point is if you are good enough the scouts will find you. See Joe Dumars, Karl Malone, Andrew Toney, Scottie Pippen, the guy in the NBA from UTSA, the guy from McNeese and the guy from Texas State. Forgive me, I'm not a huge NBA fan.

If I cared enough I'd look up all the guys to play in the NBA from SLC schools. I don't.

The guys you are mentioning just happened to have an ability to play at the next level LATER ON in their college careers and took advantage of their talents. You go to the Big 12, SEC, etc to be seen/exposed. Dumars was happy just to get a scholarship to play. Those guys developed in college and that made them the players they became.

Wrong again, Karl Malone turned down a scholarship to LSU to attend La Tech. Maybe, you should read a little about someone before talking about them.

Karl Malone was slighted by LSU when he was coming out of high school. Now you're beginning to step into places you know nothing about. Welcome to my home turf. Malone wasn't well known outside of his hometown.

Okay, I'll find the article if I can (a number of years old) which told why he went with La Tech. One thing I don't do is make a statement that I don't already know the answer to.

That was a small town you are saying one of the 50 greatest basketball players in history wasn't known outside of.

I've read a lot about Karl Malone. Trivia question which college team was La Tech playing when Karl Malone broke the nose of one of his opponents with an elbow after grabbing a rebound?

Come on Blue, remember I'm on your turf. This isn't a hard question if you followed Karl Malone. He might have attended La Tech but I have nothing but respect for that man.

Okay, a hint. It is a college in Texas.

Okay give us a harder question. You are always trying to give LU props on everything ::)

You said I was wrong about Karl Malone, how is that attempting to give props to Lamar? If that is your answer you are very wrong.

The answer is not Lamar, think again.

BTW, I'm the moderator for this site. Wouldn't you think I would be bias toward the university?

Right, it was a player from Rice and the dude needed reconstructive surgery. Nice guy off the court but a beast on it. I knew you could do it......

Once fined by the NBA for thowing an elbow at David Robinson of the San Antonio Spurs. Now, he was 6-6 in HS and grew 6 inches while in the Navy so he would be one to fit your earlier statement.  8)
