His coaching career began at the NCAA level. He worked as an assistant at Arkansas, Lamar and Houston.

Two of his best players.....Jonathan Hall 6-4, Sophomore, Miami, FL and Kendrick Johnson 6-8, Sophomore, Morton, TX.
