Guest coachacola Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 "Billy wants someone on line as soon as possible - and he wants someone like an R.C. Slocum or Pat Jones or myself," Kennan said, referring to the well-known former coaches at Texas A&M and Oklahoma State. "Guys like us can do it and do it right, from the fundraising to the coaching." So will one of these three guys be the next head coach?
UNLV Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Kennan has a great football mind and excellent experience. However his name is not big time. And he think 5 years for a winning team is acceptable progress. I would like to see as coach someone with Tidwell's lets try to win now attitude.
Guest abovetherim Posted April 2, 2008 Report Posted April 2, 2008 Agree, sometimes the past is left there. He had his time here and it lead to a nice NFL career for him. I hope they get someone else. The only way I would agree with this hire would be for him to accept a minimal salary and enough money be available to add Coach Stump and Coach Pope as the OC and DC. That would be the beginning of a good coaching staff but if that isn't in the "Cards" so to speak I would perfer someone else.
