The Lady Mustangs (23-1-5), who made the state championship game last season, advance to next week's final four in Round Rock. Whitehouse finishes the year 21-3. Friendswood needed little time to get on the board, thanks to a score by senior midfielder Katelyn Kaspar with 35:58 remaining in the first half. The outcome was all but decided by halftime with Friendswood leading 4-0; junior midfielder Sara Brezina scored on a throw-in and Whitehouse was charged with an own goal. The boys final between Brenham and Nacogdoches was postponed because of weather. Originally scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, the match was moved to 5 p.m. today at Sam Houston State University. Brenham (21-2-2) is seeking its first berth in the state tournament since 2004. Nacogdoches (22-0-1) is playing in its first regional final.
