Guest DickVitale Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Dude....What? ...These guys need some guidance desperately...Makes no sense at all...drink all you want (within reason of course), but hire one of your darn flunkies to be your driver...geesh! >
BMTSoulja1 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 It's really sad that Carmello is supposed to be the bright future for the NBA right along with Labron. Mello really needs to get it together and make wiser decisions!
Guest DickVitale Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 There is no way that you can expect a 21, 22, 23 year old to make wise decisions without prior guidance, while with all of this new fame AND money, having the world as their oyster...It makes it VERY difficult to follow the rules as they should...sad but true. Now Carmelo, probably had NO problems in High school (under mom's thumb, even at Oak Hill) or at Syracuse (under Boeheim's watch) He's not a bad person, just made a dumb decision...It happens, but he should know better.
BMTSoulja1 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I just keep thinking about that 'Punch' incident when he was suspended. You don't see Lebron having these issues and he is younger than Melo and had a rougher background.

You don't see Lebron having these issues and he is younger than Melo and had a rougher background. NOBODY had it rougher as a kid than Isiah Thomas, and HE was not involved in things of this nature (until he retired ;D)....Its all about guidance and choices...The Detroit team had a tough no nonsense coach in Chuck Daly, who was to him, as Bob Knight was at Indiana...Lebron is a much more disciplined kid and is probably a bit more mature, which also helps. NBA, NFL, and MLB (NHL does not count) will continue to have issues until they implement some sort of mentoring system to help these young, new millionaires...
bullets13 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 another dumb decision by a star athlete. i agree with you on this one Dick. He certainly makes enough money to hire a driver (he also makes enough money to know better than to pull this stunt while they're fighting for a playoff spot). He should be suspended for a few games, at least. Will the nuggets have the backbone to do it with one game left and them being 1/2 game up on Golden State for the final playoff spot?
