lonestar Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 DeAndre Jordan, one of the top three high school players in Texas and among the best in the nation is going to announce tonight live on television in Houston. His top choices are LSU, Indiana, Texas, Texas A&M, and Florida. He would be a great pick up for any of those programs.
lonestar Posted July 27, 2006 Author Report Posted July 27, 2006 After I find out where hes headed, I'll post it.
lonestar Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 Hes announced hes going to be an Aggie. I am surprised, but obviously thrilled!
Morgan Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 what a loser........who would wanna go there wen u could go to a great b-ball school such as texas or even LSU......anywhere but A&M
lonestar Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 Texas has only recently started to have a good program. Also, with the Ags coach and great players coming back and coming in next year, the future looks bright for A&M. ESPN, CBS, and a few other media outlets have A&M as a top 10 program next year, and Texas either around 20-25th or not even in the top 25. Texas does have some great talent coming though.
lonestar Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 I have been reading about Jordan. Many NBA scouts think he will play college ball for one, maybe two years, before going pro. I guess thats always the downside of recruiting great players.
lonestar Posted July 28, 2006 Author Report Posted July 28, 2006 From the Houston Chronicle Houston forward DeAndre Jordan made it official: He's an Aggie. The 6-foot-10, 240 pound Jordan made a public announcement before friends and family at "The Met" in downtown Houston this evening that he would be attending Texas A&M, choosing the Aggies over a final five that included A&M, Texas, LSU, Florida, and Indiana. "I've wanted to go to A&M for a long time," said Jordan who is ranked ninth in the class of 2007 by Rivals.com. Jordan averaged 16.5 points, 14 rebounds, and 6.0 blocks per game last year as a forward for Houston Episcopal. "My friends are there and they like it there. We called Coach Gillespie, and he kind of screamed and said he was happy."
