You know what is so fun about this district? Our girls have been playing against one another since they were 9 years old in little dribblers. I have met some fine people like Mike Johnson from HF and Donnie King from HJ. We coached against each other. Through all the years of competition we have all shown respect for each other and for the schools involved. It carried on to the high school level also. Pretty awesome is all I can say. In this day and time that is rare. On the basketball court we are rivals but in life we are friends. That is what is all about. I am thankful because our kids will be better for it. Girls basketball is the purest form of "BASKETBALL".

Its rare to be able to say that now days. We are lucky because as coachs we had the opportunity to talk to each other during our games and we realized that we were all there for the same reason. Our parents did not have that opportunity to experience anything but the rivalry. As a fan now I want to beat Orangefield and HF everytime we play because of the rivalry but, I was hurt when I read about the game agaist Navasota ( sorry to bring that up ) and I felt for the kids like I would if they were mine. I wanted to meet Orangefield in the Reginal Finals and beat them and also be proud of both teams for going so far.HF will be better next year and our rivalry will be more intense because of it. Bleed don't go anywhere just because your daughter is moving up, make sure you keep us informed as how well she will be doing. I'll do the same about KB.

Great post Jdad. I am not going anywhere and yes I will keep you guys informed and please keep me informed also on KB. Your right, we should have met in the regional finals. We are the two best teams in our region. Without a doubt. Peolpe always say, things happen for a reason. Well, in this case you can stick that reason where the sun don't shine.  ;D Keep me informed how the Lady Hawks are doing and also your daughter.
