Luther X Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 What is the best baseball team that your school has ever produced?
Guest BC boy 17 Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 The'06 BC squad: coleman bolton dishon jackson sparks angelle hecker stringer scales can't remember everyone but the HR potential just kept coming from the dugout. Remember one game they had 3 straight. That will take the momentum away from the other team. Then you had your pick to face Angelle or Haymond on the mound. Last year after Jasper won the state title they were boasting of best 3A team ever. I don't think that '07 team would be able to stay on the field with the 06 team from BC.
Hupernikomen Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Although '07 Jasper wasn't the best team ever...it was the best Jasper club I have seen and it manhandled the 06 State Champs LE.

Agreed. Jasper was the squad that got it done last year. I would like to see BC have that experience this year but really just wanting to see some good high caliber baseball played. Good luck to all.
ALLABOUTSTATE4BC09 Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 BC '08 has what it takes to get there...IMO
MIF04 Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 For talent, one should consider ’05 West Brook team: P Brandon Castolenia UH-Victoria NAIA (5-0 with 1.55 ERA) C Patrick Ford-Sr. UH-Victoria NAIA (hitting .500 with 9 HRs) 1B John Michael Falgout-Jr. Air Force (football scholarship) 2B Tim Ferguson-Soph. U. of Mississippi (hitting .308, starting at SS) 3B David Murphy-Soph. U. of Houston (medical redshirt) SS James Ewing-Sr. Southern Mississippi (starting 2B, hitting .361, freshman All American) LF Michael Ewing-Sr. Southern Mississippi (4 HRs, freshman All American) CF Jay Bruce-Sr. 1st round (Cincy Reds); rated #1 minor league prospect in professional baseball by Baseball America (hitting .333 for AAA Louisville) RF Mark Serna-Soph. Angelina JC(hitting .330) Lot of talent on this team...and everybody in their 'starting 9' went on to play at the next level.

I have to agree, this IMO was one of the best.

How did they not win state? did they have no pitching or something and did jay bruce pitch any?
Luther X Posted April 19, 2008 Author Report Posted April 19, 2008 05 West Brook was by far the best I have seen in a long time. San Augustine in 1987 was pretty good as well. Anyone remember that team?
