Guest Orangeboy Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 Top Games for Tuesday, 4/22 1. #15 Andrews (7-1, 18-6) @ #6 Snyder (7-1, 23-5) 3-3A. Last game of regular season. Winner is district champion. Snyder won first game 3-2 and Andrews took the second, 3-1. 2. Llano (6-2, 16-12) #14 Bandera (7-1, 21-5-1) 25-3A. If Bandera wins, they are district champions. If Llano wins, they are co-champs but Llano gets the #1 seed based on head-to-head competition. Bandera shut out Llano in the first matchup, 5-0, but Llano exploded for 9 runs in the second game and won 9-2 3. Bridgeport (7-6, 11-12) @ Decatur (7-6, 15-11) 8-3A. Both teams tied for 3rd place. Winner advances to the playoffs as the #3 seed. Decatur won the earlier game, 7-2. 4. Liberty-Eylau (3-4) @ Atlanta (3-4) 16-3A. Similar situation as above. Winner advances to the playoffs, loser will not. Liberty-Eylau beat Atlanta in the first matchup, 2-1. 5. Port Isabel (3-4, 14-10) @ La Feria (3-4) 32-3A. Same song, third verse. Winner is the #3 seed, the loser finishes their season. Port Isabel won the earlier game. 6. Ingram (2-6, 11-8-2) @ Wimberley (1-7, 9-13) 25-3A. One more do or die game. Records are not good but stakes are high. If Ingram wins, they claim #3 seed. If Wimberley wins, they are tied but Wimberley advances on head-to-head competition. They have played twice and split the games. 7. #8 Hardin-Jefferson (10-3, 18-6) @ #3 Bridge City (13-0, 23-3) 21-3A. Can Bridge City finish undeated in this tough district? H-J has been hot lately. An H-J loss could set up play-in game with Jasper to determine #2 seed. Should be a good one. Bridge City won the earlier game, 5-0. 8. Celina (8-5, 18-6) #13 Frisco Wakeland (10-3, 21-3-1) 9-3A. Celina has to win and hope for a Princeton loss to get in the playoffs. Wakeland win could force a game with Prosper to determine #1 seed.
SETXsports Broadcaster Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Seems like a bunch of nasty records getting into the playoffs.
