Bucof2010 Posted April 30, 2008 Report Posted April 30, 2008 Try that spot in Lumberton its a nice place and you don't have to worry about your kids tangling lines with other people or anything like that.
Guest bleed orange Posted May 1, 2008 Report Posted May 1, 2008 Claiborne Park , I don't think you can keep them but they will catch perch all day.
rEdNecK89 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 in Mauriceville there is a canal that crosses FM1130 two or three times. i live in Mauriceville and i fish there all the time. nuttin real big but lots of perch, little bass, and mud cat. havent been in a few months but ive been seein lots of families out there fishin so i guess the fish are bitin.
rEdNecK89 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 there is also a canal that crosses HWY 87 goin towards deweyville. there is also a pond by club 87 through the woods but might need a four wheeler to get to. i like canals for perch fishin cause they are often overlooked by most people but lots of fun when you find a perch bed.
rEdNecK89 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 also in Bridge City you can take your kids crabbin and they can also catch little croaker and black drum. maybe even a few reds. there are lots of spots like Baileys Road or closer by the Rainbow and Memorial Bridges to crab or fish off the bank
Bucof2010 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 I love it down there by the bottom of the rainbow bridge ridiculous amounts of crabs and occasional reds down there
TallinaBoyz Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 u can go to the rockin dollar ranch in lumberton. its free for all theres a little pier type thing to fish off of. go all the way to the end of cooks lake road and you will see a sign its fun!
DAMan Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 There is a stocked catfish pond at one of the parks on Dam B. My granddaughters, 3 of em, have all caught their first catch there. I don't sure of the name of it, cause my son took em, not me, but if interested I can get the name for you.

BearBryant Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I don't know if you'd call it "fishing" or not but if you take your kids crabbing they will have absolute blast. I went to Pleasure Island and mopped up on em. My kids were constantly catching and we had the time of our life.

thetragichippy Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I do have a question.......I think I already know the answer, but I'll ask anyway. If your kids are to young for a fishing license, you bring them crabbing and do not participate......do you as the adult need a license (or stamp)?? P.S. I have one...just curious

tvc184 Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 If you have the freshwater license already, the stamp is $10 for saltwater. If you buy them as a package deal, the "All Water Package" is $38 total. I think it is up for renewal August 31st.
