AJ25 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 sad news. but he should be a hall of famer NO DOUBT!
Interested Observer Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 He should be but most people will argue that he doesn't have the numbers.
bullets13 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 it's not everyday that someone keeps playing into their 80's!
AJ25 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 he hit a lifetime .298 over a 23 year career! need a say more?
Interested Observer Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 He put up good number in 23 yrs but he falls short of the "marks"
AJ25 Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 your probably right, but i think eventually he gets in.
Interested Observer Posted May 4, 2008 Author Report Posted May 4, 2008 Yeah, the guy had almost 2600 hits....like 1200 rbis. He also had one of the most unorthodox batting stance.....with the bat pointing back towards the pitcher. I don't think he's a first ballot but I think he gets enough votes to stay on the ballot long enough to get in.
DC07 Posted May 8, 2008 Report Posted May 8, 2008 if youve played for 100 years i think you should have more than 2600 hits although he still does have a pretty good case to make it there
