I feel honors and awards should not be based on your residence, but should be based on the contributions that person has on the development of student, staff, and community. As for the board member who challenged that proposal, maybe she thought she was on the Dallas I.S.D. board or even the Dallas City Council. Check her school issued mastercard for illegal purchaces.

Not really, just a little humor. Dallas ISD is under FBI investigation for their lax use of school isssued credit cards (to the tune of about 40 million dollars over the last couple of years). Seems some of the school personnel were using the school cards for personal gifts. The Dallas Morning News broke the story a couple of weeks ago. I do not know the school board member related to the naming of the stadium, it just seems odd that someone would oppose this suggestion. Usually means that someone has an axe to grind or is seeking some type of attention. Does she have a personal agenda in this situation?

She's not a bad person in general, but for some reason she has a problem with sports. As far as a motive, who knows.

When will WOS be getting the statue of Coach Hooks kind of like they did Bud Kilmer in the movie Varsity Blues. But WOS ought to go a little bigger, say about the same size as the statue of Sam Houston over in Huntsville. Congrats to Coach Hooks on such a great honor.
