behindthedish Posted May 11, 2008 Report Posted May 11, 2008 The fans from SL would like to say congrats to PNG! Good team with a good #1 pitcher in Harrington. We felt very fortunate to get as far as we did because we lost our #1 pitcher, junior lefty Donnie Hart, during the first week tournament to an injury that kept him out of the lineup the whole year. If we could have had him during district we feel we could have taken the top spot. SL battled alot of injuries and difficult circumstances through the year and yet still excelled, so we have nothing to be ashamed of. We wish we could have had a little better luck, but it should make us better next year when we have all of our pitching back to move into 5A. Talk about bad luck, we could not pitch our other junior lefty Jake Pinchback at PNG because he got bit by either a wasp or bee on his left forearm on Tuesday the day before he was supposed to start on Wednesday vs PNG. He could have possibly thrown the third game. I wish we had a chance to show you how good these two lefties of ours are.
