Guest DickVitale Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Should Boutte leave to start a college career at Lamar? I say no...I have my reasons, but I want to know what you guys think..Don't get me wrong, I think that Boutte would do well on the next level, and it would be a great stepping stone for him, I just don't think Lamar is the right fit right now...what do you guys think?
Guest stevenash Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Dicky_ What I want to know is did you ask Perk to try to help you get one of those 150K "feed the post" jobs in Beantown?
Guest DickVitale Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Not this time...The first trip was for pleasure and fun...Next time I go ITS ALL BUSINESS!! ;D....I want the post feeder job, WITH playoff incentive money!!
shorttexas1 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Depends on his career ambitions.... Does he want to be known as one of the best High school coaches of alltime and probally eclisp everyone on the most wins list? Or Does he want to eventually be a college head coach?
Guest stevenash Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Dickie- I can see it now. You accepting your monthly paycheck of $13000 and then going down to the court to feed Scalabrini. How could it be any better?
Guest abovetherim Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Nope, he needs to stay at Ozen. I've heard a few things to make me change my mind about him at Lamar. LU needs to improve their imagine after the recent penalty by the NCAA of losing 2 scholarships.
Aces_Full Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 What were the circumstances behind losing the 2 ships? Who was really at fault? Just curious, because I haven't heard why they were lost.
Guest abovetherim Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 Basically, the penalty has to do with graduation rates. Lamar was hurt by a couple transfers out of the program, Alan Daniels and James Davis who failed to graduate.

Guest abovetherim Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I'll PM you. It has nothing to do with his coaching ability.

Whoa-a-aa!!! I thought you were saying earlier it was a god fit. And I was saying at the time, why would he want to leave Ozen and his power and become just another coach in a system. Now you're saying it's not a good fit.

Just trust me on that...It will only be a matter of time, and the opportunity will come back....patience.

I think he needs to get into a situation where he is being groomed for the job, and not being lost with other ass't coaches and never herad of again.
Guest DickVitale Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Precisely....Patience, young grasshopper....patience..
Aces_Full Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 This board is too secretive. If you know something, then come out with it. Some of you are insinuating that something is going down with Lamar basketball. Are you saying that Roc is on the hot seat? Or are you saying that Boutte will get a better offer from somewhere else? What exactly is being talked about here?
Guest DickVitale Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Roc is certainly not on the hot seat...now. I am just saying that he will probably wait for what he really wants, thats all...Its all about timing in this business.

To me, it's not an easy adjustment running your own show and then settling for a position as an ass't. coach. Now the best 'timing" would be for Boutee to suck up...err I meant buddy up with a head coach or AD and get into a system knowing the coach would retire within 2-3 years.
Guest nostradamus Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Blue Dove......there you go using that term "butt't" again.....and this time you use it with a negative connotation.....you referred to me as a "butt't" coach......please explain???? please????
BLUEDOVE3 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Blue Dove......there you go using that term "butt't" again.....and this time you use it with a negative connotation.....you referred to me as a "butt't" coach......please explain???? please???? Hahahaha! I'm really sorry. It's a typo error. Trust me! I can't explain why because the "b" key isn't near the "a" key. I really meant to say "ass"t coach."
Guest DickVitale Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Yeah, what the heck is a "butt't" coach? ??? ???
Guest stevenash Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 I asked that some time ago but never got a response. Maybe you will, Dickie.(since he is being given a second chance to explain)
Bobcat1 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 I'm not sure why this is being asked Dickie. If someone were to say yes, you would come back with well it's not the right time for reasons I can not say. Ok? Then why did you even ask? Oh and Nash you always seem to find a way to bring up the second chance thing, very creative

Guest nostradamus Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Oh my God! I meant to say "butt't coach!" There you go again....saying "butt't coach" What is a butt't? Do you mean assistant coach? Why do you refer to them as butt't?
