Interested Observer Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 How he's going about it is wrong but he does have a valid point. Why would the media need to ask a closer who didn't even participate in the game questions about the game? The answer is simple, cause they know Wagner's history of being a big mouth and know they'll get soundbites just like the ones they got.

Interested Observer Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 I don't recall Wagner doing anything like he's done in NY & Philly when he was here in Houston. The main reason they got rid of Wagner was because he was 32 and making 8 mil a yr.....plus they had Dotel waiting in the wings.... I'd like to see the article where Wagner ripped the Astros like he's done the Phillies and Mets.....
Gabe Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 I agreed with everything that came out of Wagners mouth. It wasnt right for his teammates to bail on him and leave him to talk about a situation he had nothing to do with.

It wasn't anything even close to that...It was about him being unhappy with the direction of the club and being vocal about it.

I'd like to see the article where Wagner ripped the Astros like he's done the Phillies and Mets..... He definitely came out and questioned ownership and their willingness to open up the checkbook and get the club over the hump. that didn't sit well with Uncle Drayton who shipped BW off to Philly to make room for the signing of Pettite. To this day Wagner will admit to anyone that asks that he burned some bridges in Houston and got himself traded for his big mouth.
Interested Observer Posted May 22, 2008 Report Posted May 22, 2008 He never ripped on teammates like he does now. So he questioned the ownership.....name one fan back then that didn't.
dayton Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 He never ripped on teammates like he does now. So he questioned the ownership.....name one fan back then that didn't. you're right, but fans aren't getting paid 8 million dollars/yr to represent the organization.
Interested Observer Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 You're right, the fans don't get paid 8 mil a yr to represent the club but the fans are the ones who pay to support the club and make the club able to afford that 8 mil they pay him.
