With baseball wrapping up in the wee hours of the morning with the Nicholls-Southeastern baseball game, the end of your time in the SLC East division for at least two years occurs and you guys begin your time in the SLC West. You looking forward to some tougher competition? Outside of SFA, you get all your Texas rivals twice in hoops and volleyball -- which should definitely be an upgrade.

As a fan of SHSU, I'm upset we're losing SFA to the SLC East as they have tended to be our toughest rival, but understand that this setup is what they thought was best in the SLC for the time being and so be it...

In the two years since the SLC split into divisions, the West has clearly had the upper hand.

In the four divisional sports -- baseball, men's and women's basketball and volleyball -- eight overall championships have been decided the last two years. Six have gone to West teams, with two shared between East and West teams. West teams have won all seven postseason tournaments in those sports (the 2008 baseball tournament is next week).
