TexasTerror Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 FYI -- today is the 100 day mark til the Football Championship Subdivision begins play this year. Add 365 + 365 to that, you are looking at roughly 830 days til return of FCS. If LU football starts on Sat, Aug 28, 2010...you are looking at just 828 days til you play whichever Div II or NAIA school that is willing to come to Beaumont for the first game in school history.
Guest mffl Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Well we have to start somewhere don't we? You sure do love to be negative don't you...
TexasTerror Posted May 21, 2008 Author Report Posted May 21, 2008 You sure do love to be negative don't you... How is that negative? I know you guys are going to play predominantly a Div II, Div III, NAIA schedule. Hope it's a Texas school. Abilene Christian would be good as that's an old rival of yours from the SLC days.
AggiesAreWe Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 You sure do love to be negative don't you... How is that negative? I know you guys are going to play predominantly a Div II, Div III, NAIA schedule. What's that got to do with being negative? Besides, everyone knows that.
Guest mffl Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 Sorry i skimmed over that... need to read into it more i thought you said we would be the caliber of an NAIA, DIII or II... which we might be anyways but sorry again.
Guest coachacola Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 What are the NCAA rules on exhibition and/or scrimmages for a school like Lamar that's starting football. I think South Alabama will be playing some scrimmages this fall so I would assume Lamar will play some next fall. Most of the stadium renovations should be done by then so I can see Lamar promoting the scrimmages and showing off the "new" Cardinal Stadium. Although there won't be any real games next year, I expect Lamar to have a football atmosphere next fall.
