Not real sure what your point is, I know the Doze kid from Crosby is good, and of course Ford Smesny(Dayton) is on the roster.

They typical do not pick many players from the Beaumont area if that is what you mean. It is more of a greater Houston team than SE Texas team.

That has absoulutly nothing to do with these players abilities. Would they be better athletes if they were in the best distrct in the United States of Ameraca (Golden Triangle). I think not  ;D

Well I don't know about this year, but last years LA's  team was much too much for our team selected last year. They beat the crap outta our kids. I just hope we can compete this year.

It will be tough for Texas to ever compete in this, because (as I understand it) this is the only Louisiana all star game now, so LA will always have there top atheletes while Texas has tons for these bowls to send our players to. Plus this is only the Houston area! If we had only one allstar game in Texas most of these players may not even get an invite. JMO

Well said... I am not sure how they make up the LA team but again the Texas team is mostly Greater Houston.

I would like to see them take more small school kids. 1A,2A,3A, has alot of talent but they barely get to play in these games for some reason. But oh well I hope Texas beats the crap out of them. I'll be there to watch...

2003: Texas 32, Louisiana 29

Baytown Lee quarterback Drew Tate sparked a 67-yard drive with 1:31 remaining to set up Chuck Lee’s winning 45-yard field goal as time expired.

It was the third field goal of the game for Lee, a Deer Park product, after earlier boots of 39 and 40 yards.

He was named offensive co-MVP along with Louisiana quarterback Billy Farris of Baton Rouge Woodlawn, who accounted for all of Louisiana’s points.

Farris completed 15 of 21 passes for 128 yards and four touchdowns, plus a two-point conversion. Woodlawn teammate Chijuan Mack caught five passes for 72 yards and two scores.

Tate, Texas’ all-time passing yardage leader, completed 13 of 23 for 154 yards and one TD in his high school send-off.

2004: Texas 18, Louisiana 15

A pair of dropped punts made it closer in the end, but the Texas All-Stars held on to win this turnover-plagued game.

Leading 18-8, the Texans forced two punts in the final 4:14, then fumbled both away. Tyler Benoit of Lafayette Comeaux scored from a yard out to cut the Texas lead to 18-15, close enough to try – and fail on – an onsides kickoff with 2:18 remaining.

It was a feast-or-famine game, with plenty of big plays and limited overall offensive success, with Danny Amendola of The Woodlands named offensive player of the game.

He threw an 18-yard end-around TD pass to Terrence Nunn of Cy-Falls and returned a punt 48 yards.

Herb Hill of Lafayette Carencro got 31 of Louisiana’s 98 total yards on an early TD. Michael Jones of Fort Bend Austin hit Lloyd Oghogho of Dulles on a 56-yard touchdown pass for Texas’ long play.

2005: Louisiana 10, Texas 7

The combination of coach David Swacker, quarterback Brian Babin and receiver P.J. Brown all from the same St. Amant High in Lafayette was too much.

Babin found Brown for a 20-yard score with 30 seconds left to make Swacker and his Louisiana All-Stars a winner for the first time.

Quarterback Bryant Lee of Hahnville passed for 137 of the Cajuns’ 277 total yards as Louisiana rallied from a 7-0 first-quarter deficit to win.

Texas had scored first on a 46-yard run by Cy-Fair’s Omar Conteh, who set a bowl rushing record with 99 yards on 10 carries.

Louisiana got on the scoreboard with a 39-yard field goal by East Ascencion’s Blake Bercegeay.

2006: Louisiana 7, Texas 3

After Louisiana won for the second straight year, coach David Swacker announced he was going out on top.

The visitors for the east mounted the game-winning drive to open the second half. Quarterback Joey Guedry of Lafayette St. Amant hit four passes for 61 yards to lead a speedy 80-yard drive capped by a 20-yard scoring strike to Baton Rouge Capitol’s Kendrick Walls.

Texas pulled to 7-3 late in the third quarter on a 34-yard field goal by Memorial’s Scott Miller.

The Lone Star Staters had a long fourth-quarter drive but turned the ball over on downs at the Louisiana 16 with 3:27 left.

2007: Louisiana 31, Texas 15

Jumping out to a 21-0 lead after one quarter, the Louisiana All-Stars easily rolled to their third straight win and a 3-2 edge in the series.

Quarterback Scott Buisson of Metairie’s Archbishop Rummel rushed for 58 yards and one score and passed for another one to lead the winners’ offense.

Evangel Christian’s Patrick Chitman returned an interception 53 yards for a second-half touchdown to lead a defense that held Texas to 131 total yards.

Dewayne Stewart of Westfield rushed 16 times for 63 yards and a TD to top the home team’s offense.

A second-round draft choice by the San Diego Padres in 2005, he is now playing outfield for the San Antonio Missions in Double-A ball.

Brandon Harrison, DB Louisiana 2003

He went from Catholic High in Baton Rouge to Stanford and is playing with the Houston Texans now, having been drafted in the fifth round last year.

Danny Amendola, WR Texas 2004

The Woodlands standout was a standout at Texas Tech and signed recently as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys.

Brian Orakpo, DL Texas 2004

The defensive MVP of last year’s Holiday Bowl, this Houston Lamar product is a senior at the University of Texas and is expected to be a first-round NFL draft pick.

Lucas Taylor, WR Louisiana 2005

Taylor ranked third in the SEC in pass receptions last year with 73. The Tennessee senior was all-conference last year.

Chad Jones, DB Louisiana 2007

This highly recruited New Orleans native was named a freshman All-American playing for LSU’s national champions just seven months after the Bayou Bowl.
