Guest Jody Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Here is a Houston Chronicle write-up for the Barbers Hill Eagles printed in today's paper: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/4093702.html Hey Kicker! Seems we did not have to go all the way to Hawaii with Shelman to find someone who does not know WOS.......
jdawg03 Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Look for Joe Sexton in the SETXsports Postion Rankings Linebacker edition coming out later today
sticky Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Good article. Patton's are a class act. Great kids.
jdawg03 Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Hey Jody or BHfan..is Sexton getting any looks from D1 schools?..or is anyone from BH for that matter?
Guest Jody Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Hey Jody or BHfan..is Sexton getting any looks from D1 schools?..or is anyone from BH for that matter? I am certainly not in the know, however if Sexton and Mason Fisher do not get offers from a Div-1 school, there is something seriously wrong. Price does not say much on the subject that I have ever heard. You guys should call and ask him or Jackie Byrd. I have watched less deserving talent get signed and it's just mind boggling. Makes you wonder what a Coach Hooks/parents do, that other coaches/parents do not, to help their kids. I have to beleive Mason is on multiple div-1 watch list. He is quite the Basketball talent as well and has th size to play many football positions.
Guest Jody Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Forgot to add: Here is how the Houston Chronicle (Sam Khan) has the district finishing: C.E. King Crosby Barbers Hill New Caney Galena Park Forest Brook Huffman Smiley Obviously this guy has been following Iraq soccer or something. I would have been ashamed to print that. Guess he does not know BH has beat Crosby every year for I don't know how long. Not to mention having Huffman 2nd to last is a little of center.

kicker Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 To be serious for once  , you cant blame coaches for not getting kids recognized. I personaly sent highlight tapes of myself to different schools. They actually worked!! You cant sit back and expect everyone to do it for you. Of course my coaches helped me, but I still did some myself.

I have no idea what the parents are or are not doing, much less the coaches. I do now they are good enough and have the size and skill to play at any Div-1 school in Texas. Maybe a loan scout will pick up on that with efforts such as this board.

kicker Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I dont know how ethical it is, but I played ball in Kansas with two Hawaiin guys that payed an "agent" to find them a school and scholarship.

sticky Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I thought Sexton was only a junior. I don't know what Fisher is going to do. From BH web site: Cox Named as One of Tx Top Linebackers Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine recently released their top 300 players for the up coming football season. Barbers Hill's Kyle Cox was listed as one of the top linebackers in the state. The magazine listed their top 20 linebackers, 15 from Class 5A schools and 5 from Class 4A schools. The magazine then listed their "Best of the rest" list in which Kyle was included.
Guest etbu Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I spoke with new HC from Forest Brook Lawson today and he really thinks that they can make a run at the title this year. He use to be on staff at Northshore with Aymond.. With their speed you can never count them out but his biggest concern this year is his line.
KFDM COOP Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I tell you what Forest Brook has always had alot of speed and Athletes. Maybe they'll make some noise this year.
Irish Madman Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 Hey Jody or BHfan..is Sexton getting any looks from D1 schools?..or is anyone from BH for that matter? Yes, there are. DE/Cox named in Dave Campbell's Top 300 is getting looks from many. All D1 schools. Cox was listed in DC's under linebacker. BH moved him to DE last year. He attended several combines over the summer and I saw him last week and he looks great.

There are at least 5 or 6 players on this years team that should draw some D-1 and D-2 interest. Based on recent past and current offers out there for other schools, at least 2 of them should be writing their own check. It's not always a fair process, that is for sure. When your in 3-A, just getting noticed is an accomplishment.
Matt Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 They are high on Crosby every year, they always had crosby ranked over dayton in the preseason Crosby has a powder puff pre district schedule and the houston comical has them in the top ten in the houston area every year, until about the 3rd disrtict game (and 3rd straight loss) and you never hear from them again until next year, when they are picked to win district or finish 2nd GET USED TO IT
