Congrats OC!!  You guys put us in the losers bracket Sunday morning, so I was hoping you would go all the way  :)

We hit the ball hard, but you played flawless defense (and we didn't), not allowing us to string enough hits together to catch back up.  Sounds like you kept that up all weekend.  Way to go, ya'll deserved it!

Man it was hot, 'specially for us grinding it out in losers bracket!

Congratulations to the girls of the Orange CRUSH (Thompson)...2008 USFA State Champions!

What a great weekend of softball in Conroe!

There are many cliche' phrases that I could use to describe this weekend, but none are more appropriate than to say that this was a total team effort.  Great pitching, hitting, and virtually error-free defense combined for a championship weekend.

Pitchers Shannon Sain, Rayleigh Templet, and Emilee Reed kept hitters off balance all weekend.  Shannon got things rolling by pitching a no hitter for a 1-0 win against a very strong Texas Eclipse team.  Only two eclipse players reached base.  The first was promptly gunned down by catcher Madison Cole trying to steal second, and the second runner made the same mistake and was out by three steps, but managed to knock the ball free going into the bag.  She rested on second as Shannon fanned the batter at the plate to retire the side.

Rayleigh Templet got the nod in the championship game winning 6-2 against the Texas Heat throwing to an umpire with a strike zone the size of a buffalo nickle.  The zone was the same for both teams and turned into a game of each pitcher having to challenge batters with pitches right down the gut.  Rayleigh was up to the task with the help of some great defense.

Almost flawless defense by infielders Tiffani Thompson, Baleigh Bussell, Shannon Sain, Rayleigh Templet, and Emilee Reed combined with the good decision making of catchers Madison Cole and Emily Nolan and great wide open hustle by the outfielding corp of Gabby Miller, Kylin Carpenter, Michele Rigsby made for some great softball.  Throw in one armed pinch runner Jacquelyn Brown...shake it up, and pour it out and you have yourself one great bunch of young ladies.

"Thank You" to the players, coaches, and parents for making this a very memorable weekend.

Congrats to the Texas Hold'em for a solid tournament and outstanding play.  You guys played hard in some tough games in the heat after getting in the losers bracket.  I caught the tail end of one of your games where you were down by two in progressive ITB and ended the game with a come from behind 3 run in-the-park home run...I think everybody in the park heard that play.

Congratulations to the entire team and coaches.  Sounds like you had a great tournament, but then

that seems to be the norm for Crush teams.  Cannot go anywhere that at least one team is in

tournament and there on Sunday.

good Job team.
